Half the starters in the league would be ok with those stats
Even with his struggles he’s still putting up competitive numbers on a bad team

I find it odd they don’t seem concerned about his velo being down so much

They’re actually much better overall team this year. He’s gotten much more run support. I would think he will be a legitimate MLB starter till he’s done. The dominant period he had was never sustainable.

If he would be putting up numbers similar to last year they’d be close to a wild card spot.

If his team could hit the baseball his record would be a lot better.

Several analysts say his mechanics are off and his endurance is affected by excessive movements in his delivery. Fans have criticized his “dad bod” after pictures of him on the beach with Livvy were in a few articles. He looked out of shape.
Curt Schilling was one of the analysts and the other was a former MLB pitcher whose name escapes me.
Skenes is a hard worker and a smart guy. I think he’ll figure it out and put in the work to get back on track. Regardless his troubles are not exaggerated. He has to address some issues.
