Take this dumb shite back to the SEC rant, Stephen. He was at 107 pitches.

Skenes would have finished the game if it had been the world series. It's the 3rd SEC series. Big difference. Plus if you don't get the bullpen to perform in pressure situations early on, they won't be there later when you need them.

Hush your dirty mouth can't burn the best pitching prospect in this years draft during the front half of SEC play. Keep him healthy for Omaha

Did I miss the part where the game last night was in the College World Series?

I think if it were in the CWS Skenes would have at least started the 8th with a short hook. 100-110 pitches is when they have pulled Skenes all year.

The normal thing on here has been to take a decision that could go either way and judge it solely on the result (i.e., coach pulled pitcher, bullpen coughs up the game, Tigers lose = bad decision). Now, we've graduated to criticizing a decision in a Tiger win and calling a very justifiable and objectively correct decision "the worst call" all year?

I think you probably have a good point about leaving Skenes in if we are in NCAA tournament play....week 3 of the SEC regular season...MEH I probably would have pulled him as well...player well-being despite what the player wants is a huge part of a coaches job.

I realize Skenes may not be a max effort guy, but shite throwing 100mph for 7 innings has to take a toll on a man's body.

ETA

On my last point....at what point is the whole country going to start asking how the hell does Skenes throw 102 in the 1st inning and is still throwing 100mph in innings 6 and 7. There are 3 exactly 3 big league pitchers that threw 25+ 100mph pitches in a game last season....I bet Skenes has done it more than once this season. What type of training regimen and recovery regimen does that take? Also, whoever runs it or came up with it should market it.

I was thinking the same thing in the top of the 8th. This is an emotional take.

Coach knows what he is doing.

You are the worst LSU poster on this board, and that's saying something.

It was the right call.. Skenes getting us an extra inning was huge. Pen only had to cover 6 outs. We really can’t ask for more especially considering he was over 100 pitches averaging 98. Would love to see him get the W, but a tigers win is all that counts.
