Call me crazy, but given the fact that Fields was injured on the play I think Skalski may have been putting Fields at risk of injury as well, not just himself.

No, it's not! It's put there to protect a defenseless player! The defender is not a defenseless player, so don't tell me it's put in there to protect the defender! This is the protect the offensive player, period
There is no having any type of rational discussion with somebody this fricking stupid.

I can tell by your response, you're a metro sexual! Go get your toe and fingernails done and leave football to the real men out here!

Man, I got taught at the age of 4 with LEBRO that you tackle with you head up. That was 44 yrs ago.
Do you know how many permanent injuries have happened by compressed disc's in a persons neck that weren't immediately apparent, paralysis, but will have LIFE LONG LASTING EFFECTS.
The rule is in place for the hitter more than the person receiving the blow.

I’m ok with the call, but be consistent. Everytime a player leads with the crown throw them out, hit or miss.
It’s bullshirt to only enforce it when someone gets lit up.

the guy is going to break his neck one day! I was always taught to lead with your eyes and facemask, and this guy tucks his head and leads with the crown of his helmet when he tackles! Dangerous stuff!

Bad call. I love the targeting concept but there are 20 plays every game where someone lowers the crown of the head on offense and defense. It was a weak call. Guy hit with shoulder and his head. If it was a Bama player, he would have stayed in the game.

He's a punk and a danger to every player on the field. A dirty player

No, it wasn't. It wasn't helmet to helmet targeting but he led with the the crown of his helmet and speared Fields. Leading with the crown of the helmet and forcibly hit another player is not allowed. AKA from the head to the feet, no one is allowed to spear another player to cause injury not only to the receiving player but to the one who is leading with the crown of the helmet. The rule is there to protect both.
I'm no fan of Skalski but the rule exists for a reason. He breaks it way too often and if he keeps it up, he'll end up breaking his own neck.
He doesn't learn.

Didn’t like it either, but by rule it was targeting.

He has a history of that. Dirty player. Deserved to get tossed. Again!!

You may take exception to the rule but that was textbook targeting

You can’t lead with the helmet at all. All he had to do was lift his head out the way and lead with his shoulder. He is an idiot and wants to lead with his head. Dude deserves all he gets bc he can’t learn his lesson.

RBs do not lead with their helmet. The lower themselves to protect themselves and make contact with the shoulder. Very different. If every RB led with his helmet, they would have concussions all the time. Stiff arm is a legal play as long as they don’t grab the facemask. Do you even watch or understand football?

If a player can't knock the crap out of a player in the rib area and not get called for targeting, why don't we just play two hand touch

Skalski did lead with his helmet, but he's the one risking injury
quote:Check that...you are a massive idiot.
Stalski didn't deserve to get kicked out after simply making a hard hit.

There are 2 different rules that apply to targeting. One is a defenseless player and being hit in the head or neck area. The other is LEADING with crown of the helmet and using force to any body part on the other player. The 2nd part was enforced correctly.

I’m not a fan of how they toss guys for bang bang plays where defenders are trying to adjust in game speed.
His eyes were facing the ground and he put the very crown of his helmet into the ribs. It was consistent with the definition of the call.
