You think the '20 OL three games in was that much better than '22?
QB back and forth aside- yes. We had multiple vets on that line who got drafted and they hadn’t started dropping like flies 3 weeks in. We are starting two true freshmen today. Shanahan was well known to be the weak link and here we are with his backup who couldn’t take the job from him as our starting center now. What does that tell you?
Also, we are struggling to move to a zone blocking scheme again, just like early in 2019 when they scraped it and then suddenly looked a lot better. They didn’t try again until last year, with similarly bad results until the UF game, when we went back to a gap approach yet again.
I’m not saying that line was good, but it was better than this year’s. There was at least more experience and a little more stability.

They weren't playing like that if you watch the game.
You gonna answer the question in the OP? Set aside your emotions, watch the Mizzou game, and pick - 3rd start Brennan w/ Ensminger or Daniels w/ Denbrock?

Have to admit, I miss seeing passes executed that well, regardless of the opponent.

But all of this melting by game 6 when you look at where we were in February is just hilarious.
It has nothing to do with the overall talent level of the roster or how many games the new regime has played.
We have a QB that can't throw the football and a "21-0" like situation (Miles-Jefferson-Lee) where the HC will not even try the second team "More Efficient Passer."
History repeating itself and it's maddening.

This is the the truth. I was willing to give everyone a pass until I was in the stands at auburn watching what was happening downfield. A decent college passer makes this offense look a LOT different.

It doesn’t matter. It’s completely fricking irrelevant because E and Brennan are GONE and never coming back. That’s why I said QB comparisons aside. What is the point of meaningless thought exercises about an OC and QB who have no bearing on anything going forward? I would love to see Nuss get a shot to shake things up, but Brennan is dead to me. He left and I really don’t care why at this point.
The line is a fricking mess this year from a talent and experience standpoint. We’ve only seen 1 1/2 decent games out of them and that lineup may not be available the rest of the season. Now we have to circle back to multiple guys who were passed up by two true freshmen and a true soph and hope they can just be average vs SEC competition.
The 2020 line, for all its shortcomings, produced 5 games of 148+ yards rushing vs an all SEC schedule without a QB accounting for most of that on busts and scrambles. I don’t think the best version of this year’s line could accomplish that.

Do you not remember how bad the OL was on 2020? That is what blows that narrative out of the water. The 2020 OL was as bad as this OL and Myles was still putting up video game numbers.
Yeah for 3 games then he had an injury so bad no doctor had ever seen it before

When you put up over 40 points (against Missouri) and still lose the game it's not on the QB. It's on the defense. You're an idiot.

BK is just trying to get us through a tough year while gaining experience for the young players until the roster is full of great players again

People, judge by looking at 2018, not 2019.

Myles can get the ball down field but he'd be dead by now with our OL.
You don’t seem to understand pro-style passers. If your QB isn’t a runner, you shorten the routes and get the ball out on-time in a rhythm. Even the worst line can hold for 2 seconds. Pro style are taught to move a step or two to buy another second. The often take less sacks than running QBs who look to escape rather than throw it away.
We are running longer routes with a passer who stares down primary read then starts to panic and scramble. We take sacks, including 3rd and 4 to take us out of FG range, that a pro style QB would never take.

Did you forget Brennan’s game vs State? He was bailing 5+ yards backwards from a shotgun set every play and abandoning the pocket, much the same way Daniels does laterally.
To his credit, he worked on this and did a good job stepping up in the pocket in games 2 and 3. But still, don’t act like he never struggled with this.

You wanna set up a safe space for CBK until the new recruits show up on campus fall '23? No judgement zone!
We could set up a special room for special people like you to pick your butthole. I think my idea would be wonderful for some of you on here.

So what is it? Is he dead to you or you gonna keep bringing him up?

While I'm in my special room will you let me know when it's ok to question what we all have seen on the field the past six weekends?

My god you people are ignorant. Lol
Plenty of new coaches around the country that don't seem to have issues with getting their teams better.
I'm confused that this is where we are at right now. Not talking wins/losses.
I don't see improvement from week to week.
Eta....especially from special teams. That's absurd to me.
