TGBFTL seems like a shell of its former self. As an LSU fan this is very disheartening.

I’ve noticed lately that the band is outplayed by every opposing schools band.

For years LSU had an award winning band. It isn’t winning awards right now. It is routinely being embarrassed by schools that never use to embarrass them.

Yep, this isn’t an attack on the kids. It’s not their fault that the music school is ruining it. There needs to be a push from donors to take the band back into the athletic budget. We can adjust what we give back to the school as the price of taking back on the tiger band. This would be an easy fan win for Woody.

The new dean of the College of Music & Dramatic Arts, Eric Lau, took that position in July of this year. He is a Tiger Band alum and understands the importance of the band. I have confidence that things will change for the better under his leadership.

I can tell you this right now - Frank would have given some pushback on the DJ bullshite, the pushing the band out the way while they play music over the loud system bullshite, and he would have that band about 3 times louder and much larger than what it is now. He was Tiger Band's Skip. They need to go out and get Tiger Band's Jay Johnson.

Volunteer band did the same last year. I voiced my displeasure on the TB FB alumni page and didn't go over well. There's a few more and more TB alumns starting to voice their negative opinion. I'm not doom and gloom with the band, but starting to see a bad pattern forming. I'm an TB alum and so is my son.

I think they probably got confused from the Cowbells. It was one time only.
