very good interview.

few things people overlook when talking about auburn:

- LSU's O has improved a lot since that game.
- Field conditions DID play a role in 'stopping' the O
- terrible calls inside the 20 (part of the improvements)

I don't think this has been discussed and it may be a non factor, but has anyone mentioned that the field condition was absolute shite for that game and I felt it actually affected our play just as much as Steele's defensive strategy?

true

Plus it was the first time we really saw teams start dropping 8. We've pretty clearly made teams pay since.

If we get the same two teams that we've seen all year, LSU is going to win.

But, it's football. In a single game, anything can happen.

And CEH had a field day with 26 carries, 136 yards averaging 5.1 a carry. If you are going to play 7 DB's Coaches E and B are going to give Joe the option to hand the ball off to CEH and that's what he did.

Auburn played closest to LSU as any team this season but I did not feel like LSU wasn't in control of that game at anytime during the game. In fact I feel like Texas played LSU the closest this year followed by Alabama then Aurburn (then Florida).

I heard a talking head interviewed on Yahoo Sports this morning who said, "The only way to slow down this LSU offense is to stop CEH." First of all, how do you stop CEH?

Here's the thing: You probably could stop CEH if you really wanted to--the problem is that, in doing that, you'd almost entirely eliminate your chances of even slowing down the rest of the offense.

Wonderful interview. I am sure Venables has reached out to him. AU has no reason to want either to win, but I am sure they would rather another SEC team not claim the title.

What? Did they not watch the OU game CEH barely played and JJ goes off. Seriously they should have just stopped at the statement there is no way to slow down this LSU offense.

To be fair, his replacement ran 16 times for 90 yards (5.6 avg). I'll maybe give the benefit of the doubt that they mean stop the running game period? Who knows

not sure if Steele said it but they had the luxury of a 3 man front bc they have 2 1st round picks on that line. no one can say that this year.

This is exactly what Clemson wants. They pride themselves on red zone defense.

Also, I believe we failed on two 4th and shorts at the goal line.

The score was not indicative of the arse kicking, just like the Florida game.

Clemson doesnt match up with us well at all.

They are built to stop a power running offense, they play 4 safeties, 1 CB, 2 lb and 4 DL.

They actually matched up well with Ohio State and got burned. They have not played a spread offense all year, have not played against press man coverage all year, have not played against tempo all year. We gonna roll.

OU stopped LSU's Biletnikoff Award winning WR. There were serious consequences to the tune of 63 points given up.

OU was a shell of an already bad defense.

We are talking a good defense, like AU. If we don't have all our offensive weapons Clemson can match up well. They can not however match up with Moss, CEH, Marshall, Chase, and Jefferson.

The one that is MOST valuable against CU will be CEH. Relief valve, extra blocker, running back......he will be a huge asset.

Those two paragraphs in the OP are about the greatest compliments a college QB could have.

Looking forward, i truly believe Joe is about to light the NFL up if the bengals even TRY to give him some weapons.
