Hester is the logical choice.
Best of luck to him!

I wish Doug Moreau well, but he had slipped in recent seasons.
His "insights" on opponents showed that he no longer was doing much homework. Analysis? Not so much. Moreau is 80 years old, and I would imagine the season (and the traveling) had become a bit of a grind.
The best crew would have been Gordy replacing Doug and Hester moving to the sideline, but I guess Gordy didn't want to give up his spot.
Hester will be excellent, though.
Look, it's going to seem strange to not hear Dan Borne and Doug Moreau this season, but change happens. There's a whole generation of LSU fans who grew up with John Ferguson on the radio and Sid Crocker as the PA voice.
Thank you, Doug. Get well soon.

Jacob Hester will replace him as the color commentator.

Wish him the best but blessing in disguise
Absolutely this. He struggled mightily last few years to even do The recap . Ride off in to sunset Doug you’ve been great for your school.

Listened to OTB this morning en route to work. He said he will provide color commentary for all away games. I'm not sure why he wouldn't do so for home games, as well. My guess is that Hanagriff will cover home games.

this. when i hear DM's voice pre-game my blood pressure goes up. pavlov response. Hester will do well but he doesn't have the benefit of history and that conditioned response.

Doug Moreau was great but it’s time for someone new.

Fantastic replacement. Worried it would be T-Boob
LSU Admin does not want that so it won't happen
