We are 10-0....with a prolific offense and momentum like we haven’t seen in years on the recruiting trail. Me don't care.

It’s kind of a lazy argument just because it’s a great offense and a not as good defense. Te difference is that Oklahoma defense was bad every game. The LSU defense has just been bad in some games and really only some halfs.

For the record, that Oklahoma team went to OT with Georgia in the semifinal that year.

It’s amazing how the think Ohio State has a “good defense” when they’ve played some of the worst offenses in the league

We are 49th in total defense right now. OSU, Clemson, and Georgia are in the top 6. Alabama is 27th.

Do you respect a defense that's hobbled with injuries and Divinity still out? I mean, you kind of proved his point.

None of that matters if you score more points than the other team.

I don’t understand how any fan can’t see that our defense is a liability. You’re just not being honest. All these pundits are pointing out is that it’s the one thing that could keep us from winning a championship. I think we’d all have to agree, because it sure as hell isn't the offense.

Define liability. We haven’t lost and really haven’t been in danger of losing. Even Alabama never had the ball with a chance to take the lead or even tie the game in the 2nd half, we never even trailed in that game. Ole Miss was never down by less than double digits.

What’s funny though is people getting all defensive when pundits say it but some of our own fans are saying the same thing At this point I’ll worry about the D when it costs us a game

This is what OSU has faced in Opponent's Total Offense this year:

31/42/53/59/75/102/107/120/128 and Penn State is 51

We faced:

8/20/28/45/62/64/72/118/126 and Arkansas is 106

I have heard several talking about injuries to Alabama players was an issue in their loss to LSU.

Agreed!

I actually think all of the criticism is good tonic for Aranda and his crew.

I expect to see the Tiger D go postal on Arkansas and aTm leading up to UGA.

I am happy with the LSU season and have not been critical of the D. But, I am not going the "but...but...but.." route either. The team is the team. Injuries, etc are just adversity to be overcome. LSU has and I am confident will continue.

This.

Interesting comparison by Klatt. The Tiger D seems to have a larger upside than that OU defense. But, it hasnt played great even when healthy. The defense has been fairly healthy all year really. Losing Harris and Divinity hurts but others have lost way more.
Bring it, LSU is comin.

The situation is LSU has the most explosive offense in the nation. They can virtually score at will.

The defense is not as good as last year, but it is still a top 30 defense. Despite what happened against Ole Miss, this is a good-very good defense that fell victim to an underestimated QB running an offense called by a dynamic play caller, aided by a defense that thought Ole Miss would roll over since they were down by 3 scores at half.

I'm not worried at all. The only people spouting this are people that haven't watched much LSU and only look at the box scores and highlights because their profession dictates that they write so many articles on so many different teams a week.

Wrong. Ranked 54th. No Team has every won a Natty with a defense ranked that low.

Of all my years of watching LSU football, this is the strangest defense I've seen. At times they've looked great. At times they've looked atrocious.

It's confusing because they have several guys who will make a living playing football. A handful of them will be 1st round picks. The D coordinator is known as one of the best assistant coaches in the country. He's known as one of the best defensive minds in football. It seems like a brilliant DC and talented players would be a recipe for a good defense. But Ole Miss just rushed for another 60 yards while I was typing this.

I’m with you both. Hopefully all this criticism and poor play will bring some humility, discipline, and hunger to the coaches and the players. We can’t keep doing the same thing and win a championship. I don’t doubt the abilities of anyone on our defense or Aranda.

Is he saying the same thing about Bama. As far as total defense ranking, they aren't much better.
It is ridicules to compare the OU Def of 2018 to LSU Def in 2019.

They were completely inept at OU.

We gave up some big plays to OM in the 2nd half after almost shutting them out in the 1st half.

Vandy, did do some scoring us, and Rutgers did some scoring on OSU. UF did score on us in the 1st half but the D buckled down in the 2nd half.

So forget this guy.

I'm not thrilled about this defense but to compare to OUS Def in 2017 or 2018 is ludicrous.

It means if Burrow has an off day, or even a subpar half by his standards (think 2nd of OM), this team could easily lose a game.

We very plausibly lose the Texas game if Burrow doesn't complete that 3rd and 17 against Texas.

The defense couldn't stop Trask until the 4th quarter.

It's okay to be realistic about what this team is deficient in.

We’ve been in enough close games this year you’d think this wouldn’t need explaining.
