"So in the last 5 games we still lost by 10+ 4 times and lost to the worst team in the Big 12 by 8.

Wow we are so competitive"

Obviously you don't know what the word COMPETITIVE means. Yes losing to the #1 team in the country by 10 is competitive. If you don't understand that not gonna waste my time.

In the last 8 SEC games LSU has held the lead for a combined 13:50 out of a possible 320:00 in those games. While they aren’t getting blasted by 40, 21, and 19, I still don’t know if I would call what they have been “competitive”. More competitive than getting destroyed by some SEC opponents? Sure, I guess that’s something. But in two of the last three games they literally did not hold a lead for one second.

If you take the LSU blinders off and just look at it objectively it’s hard to really say they have been “competitive”

We’re not competitive at all and what’s worse is we have had some good games to draw from but McMahon hasn’t done that. The player combinations that produced wins vs Wake and Arky or that played K-State and Kentucky tough have been disregarded in favor of the idiotic decisions and garbage product this coach prefers.

McMahon's dispassionate, almost aloof response to the horseshite Kansas State ending was cause for concern. It gave the impression that it wasn't that big deal to him. A George Brett pine tar bat reaction would have been appreciated.

. This season has been an abject failure. Even the most optimistic fan should be questioning whether McMahon has the ability to turn it around.
. I am starting to come around to this thinking.

What are you trying to argue? I'm still not understanding your point. If you want to complain about Wade not being good enough then what the hell do you think about this "team" that we have right now?

Agree about the reaction after K-State but don’t know if he’s dispassionate, I think it’s more bewilderment. The coaches at this level figured him out really fast and he doesn’t have a counterpunch in his bag to go back at them. He’s just in over his head, he looks lost and defeated.

He is a progressive lunatic. Things like facts are incomprehensible to him.

Again, he thought Darius days made a mistake in staying at lsu last season instead of transferring to a different school.

I have no blinders on. This is the worst Bball team I have ever seen at LSU and also the least talented. If you are losing by 10 and you are fouling at the end of the game to get the ball back then yes you've been competitive. I said the last 5 games. And they had opportunities, Including the AL game, to actually win if they made some plays and hit some open shots. They are playing better with the freshmen playing and they will only get better with more PT, So yeah. Not getting blown out and being single digit deficit near the end of the game is competitive even if they never held a lead. Look up the word. Competitive is derived from the word compete.

also the least talented

Johnny O’Bryant
Shavon Coleman
Andre Stringer
Anthony Hickey
Charles Carmouche
Malik Morgan
Andrew Del Piero

Those were the leading minutes leaders on Johnny Jones’s first LSU team. Outside of, perhaps, JOBIII this year’s team is, overall, more talented than that group. At the absolute worst, they are at least equal.

Yet, Johnny Jones was able to go 19-12 (9-9) with THAT group while McMahon can’t even stay within 10 ppg with this group.

Was the 2021 LSU football team severely devoid of talent? No! They just had a bad HC. That was made very clear when a good HC came in and took an LESS talented team and won immediately.

This basketball team only looks horrible because their HC is doing a horrible job.

LSU SEC record by year:
2018–19: 15-2
2019-20: 12-6
2020-21: 11-6
2021-22: 9-9

And do you think that the fact that he was suspended right before one NCAA tournament and then fired before another had anything to do with his record? Did the constant sniping by Dick Vitale, Jay Billas and other national commentators hurt recruiting? Despite all that, it looked like he was putting together another good team before being fired. Of course, all of his recruits and ALL of the returning team dropped us. And somehow you think 9-9 is not a heck of a lot better than 1-17.

LSU basketball went from having a basketball coach to having a babysitter.. this dude here is way over his head to compete in the SEC conference.. he better have millions of NIL money to give away in the next few years or we will be everyone’s rent to win game..
