nah he needs to go HARD for 2-3 quarters but going off for a full game if it’s like 70-14 is gonna look bad

Well, he could go for Mahomes' record of 800+ total yards. That would pretty much lock up the Heisman.

I can't find any record of this existing

ETA I found it. Pretty crazy that he did it against OU

That will depend on how far ahead we are.

My feeling is that JD5 will play into the 3rdQ a bit IF we are 4 TD's ahead.

I get your point. However, he needs to separate himself so far from the competition that it’s not even funny. He should have some solid stats by 4.th Qtr. Give Nuss some more garbage time…..

I think he needs to pad his stats as much as possible

Excessive padding will just piss off the voters and discredit his prior work.

Topic is question. Honestly, I think he needs to pad his stats as much as possible prior to Heisman voting

I know we all want him to win the Heisman, but coaches need to be smart.

If we have a commanding lead at half, give him 1 drive in the third quarter and get him out.

Once a win is assured, don’t risk losing him to injury for the aTm game or bowl game (assuming he decides to play). And don’t risk his NFL future against Georgia State.

He’ll have to play all 4 quarters bs aTm and can build his stats then.

I really don’t think Heisman voters will hold it against him if he only plays half vs GA State.

This. Play Jayden like you would play him by other game. Padding stats will be used against him.
It is also not possibly in the best interest of the program. He could get hurt and it could potentially take away from Nuss getting needed snaps.

He’s not going to win the Heisman against GA St.

JD5 needs a TD reception and an INT on defense to lock it up.

I agree. Let him keep playing if he wants to. Put up some insane numbers. Gotta do what you gotta do at this point

Really? Do you think Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr. are going to sit?

Oregon (Nix) and Washington (Penix) are playing conference road games, Washington against #11.

LSU (Daniels) is playing at home against a 6-4 Sun Belt team that has given up 40+ each of the last 3 games, including losing 42-14 at home the last 2 games.
There's a difference, don't you think?

Went to both schools, I’ve watched a little bit of GSU. They aren’t a true slap dick team like most think. They are pretty solid offensively, will give our defense a fit.

The 8&4 game is key. Need to have a good game and win. Lose that game and chances drop significantly.

Will give LSU a run through the middle of second quarter and have fans disgusted.

Have you seen our defense? We’re already disgusted and have been for quite some time.

think if anything, it would hurt him with the media. What he did against SEC teams is a natural product of the game, he had to show out in competitive games to win (or try to, in the Ole Miss and Bama games). He was great while competing. This game won't be competitive, and if he plays and racks up insane stats in a 80 pt blowout, it would just seem like LSU is trying to win him the award, at the expense of sportsmanship.

Disagree. For example, after the Army game, many sports media guys were praising his stats even commenting like “I know it was Army, but still…”

Get his work in in the 1st half, maybe opening drive of 2nd half, that's it at most.
don’t understand this line of thinking at all. He’s in a race for the Heisman. he wants to play and compete.

Why would you intentionally go the opposite way of what’s typically done in games like this and play him less?! Typically your starter comes out in the last 5-7 minutes of a game like this. If anything give him a chance to play an extra drive or two and rack up another hundo and couple extra TDs.

Nuss will have a month to practice with the 1s and get his opportunity to ball out in the bowl game

yea. LSU shouldn’t try or advocate for him to win the award. Good point.
