No he doesn’t, he throws it to the top guy that’s a pick 6
Offensive player is driving back to the ball too. Assuming he throws outside shoulder, basically zero chance at pick six. Riskier than Nabors but still a valid throw.

He's got 3 options open there.
I think Nabers is his only option. The other 2 could be pick sixes. Now the receiver that is covered well, could turn and run upfield with no safeties back there and that may have been a TD. JMO

SkyCam view of the same play

Red arrows show direction those defenders are running at time of the screen grab.
Yellow shows the clear path Malik has to the endzone if the ball is thrown accurately.
Sideline view to show depth of linebacker vs Malik (looks like about 4 yards).

You don't throw that against a squatting corner. Ever.
He’s not squatting, he’s changing directions away from Williams.

It should have already been in the air.

I personally love the people who continually blame it on our our offensive coordinator’s scheme not getting our players open. It’s as if they are not watching the games at all.

Ball has to come out when Nabers cuts. Waited too long .
Also you have 3 WR's running 5 yard routes.
There is no timing routes with JD. He has to see that your open at the end of your route. He doesn't anticipate. He is very unsure.

And he’s looking right at Nabers.

Nutriaitch, great shot with Skycam. The ball should've been in the air to Nabors. JD looks to be eyeing Williams 1st. That is the much more dangerous throw.

Kinda hard to read, but the captions say
"At this moment, all 5 receivers are open for a min 5 yard gain if the ball is placed in these spots"
and
Bottom right: "Off screen, 15 yard out"

The blocking on that play is excellent. He could have sat for another 5 seconds if he wanted to. Why on earth he ran into the defense is perplexing. A bad QB makes a line look so much worse

I'm not even sure what Daniels is looking at here....
Hes the worst passing QB in the SEC, per ESPN. And thats including his Southern and new Mexico stats
He has no clue at what hes looking at, pre or post snap

Hell yes! Nabors is elusive in open field. Makes defense honest as well.
