My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Saban with Candy at 31 Flavors one night. I guess it was pretty serious.

In New Orleans before the national championship game at Mulats, I got him to sign my lsu hat with other autos on it…. He looked at me in disbelief. The back was held with duck tape. Wore it till all the autos faded. On it
Saban, Roger creager, Cory Morrrow and a state baseball player from my hometown I went to school with.

The mother fricker didn't sign my hat at his coaches show at the Sheraton when I was 13 years old 2 days before the National Championship. He signed shite for literally everyone around me .

Needless to say I make fun of my Dad for having a hat Autographed by Alabama's Coach.

I first met him back stage when they were introducing him as head coach. Had no idea who he was at the time other than our new coach. He stared me down with lazer beam eyes when I walked up to him and congratulated him on being the new coach. I thought he was a dick.

Now that I’m older I understand that he was probably mediating/prepping to do his speech and I some teenage arse fricked his mental prep.

Had 2 run ins with him

1- I was walking back from class when they dedicated the locker room for Jeff Boss with some boosters and I just walked up like I was supposed to be there. Emmert was there as well and he invited everyone to walk around the locker room so I did. Emmert and Saban stood by the door shaking everyone’s hand as they left. He definitely had an inkling I wasn’t supposed to be there but I was some high rollers kid as far as he knew so he just shook my hand and looked at me like he wanted to punch me in the face.

2- I was walking into Superior for the coaches show as he was walking up. I said hi and he basically brushed me aside.

The man surprised me.

When they had the Bayou Bash at the Belle’s Atrium, and the program was over there were a lot of folks in line to get his autograph. It was the year we waited late to get JR’s commitment (it came later).

Terry Saban kept telling Nick that they had to go. Skip and others were waiting on them abd they had to get to another function.

Surprisingly Nick stuck it out. He signed something for everybody in line. That was a side of Saban I had never seen before.

I was deployed to Afghanistan in 2002 and my brother reached out to this office and requested he send me a letter. I got a very nice letter from him that he signed a photo of him he signed as well. I appreciated him taking the time to do that and I still have these documents today.

Friend was a walk-on at LSU during the Saban years. Never sniffed the field and was just a practice body. For many years after his playing days, Saban would call him on his birthday to wish him well and get a quick life update from him. I was shocked by that

An acquaintance told me this story...this young man was a videographer during Coach Saban's run at LSU. Everyday he would walk down the hallway to do whatever chore he was doing at that time. Everyday, he would pass Coach Saban in the hallway and offer a greeting. Coach Saban would offer a tacit acknowledgement and move on. On this particular day, the videographer decided not to greet Coach Saban, maybe a little gamesmanship, and walks by Coach without the greeting. As he passes Coach Saban, he hears Coach Saban say "Hey, not even a hello today?"...

None BR related, but my best friend attended a Saban luncheon a few years ago and he talked about departing LSU for the NFL. Wanted the challenge, but quickly realized he could not 'get' all the best players due to the cap and his front office let Drew Brees walk out of town w/o a contract. He said if they had signed Brees he would very likely still be in the NFL.

Also I believe he KNEW that LSU was the constant competition and it was evident when you look where they scheduled their annual BYE week and when they scheduled the game (later in the season giving their team time to get it together an un-arse issues).
