Saban has one thing right for sure, our fan base definitely has catastrophe syndrome
What decent program doesn’t?
UGA fired their miles in mark richt. Auburn was about to fire Gus in 2015 until they beat us in the “buyout bowl.” Let Saban lose 3 at Bama this year...
This is absolutely in no way shape or form unique to LSU. Good football programs bitch when they don’t don’t have “good” football teams. Check out a Michigan board, or an Ohio state board after the Clemson blowout.
Expect this exact same reaction on a board of any proud program, if it bothers you follow go Boston College where 8-5 is fine because no one really gives a shite. But at the same time only 60k will show up when they are “winning.” Step outside outside your bubble. Water is wet. You have catastrophe syndrome in regards to our catastrophe syndrome.

Ed Orgeron is not Nick Saban.
One is the greatest HC in CFB history and the other is the worst HC in Ole Miss history. Stop the fricking comparisons

Saban had a great relationship with Mark Emmert when they were at LSU.

Arnsparger
He strung together three very good seasons, something no Tiger coach had done since 1973. The period from 1974-83 was kind of a fallow one for LSU football.

I have been waiting for this argument.
The FANS are the problem!!! Haha. It's not that we have a horrible coach, it's the fans. Every fanbase is just like us, if you don't realize this, then you haven't been outside of the state long enough to see it.
Miami-I just saw an interview with Billy Corbin( the U 30 for 30 director), where he was complaining about the same thing(how idiotic it is to blame the fans instead of the coaches).
We have a horrible coach, if we can get a good coach in here, then you will see
an united fan base.

I know of no one that thought Curley should be given another year.

The fan base will be as close to united as it can get once this coming season is over. Failing to win 8 games for the first time in 18 years should have everyone pretty pissed.

Sorry but that’s bullshite. I have had the misfortune of living in Bama the last decade and the fanbases here are almost always on the same page. Obviously winning solves everything but it sure as hell didn’t for Les Miles.

3:50 mark, he talks about blaming the fans.
Maybe every fanbase outside of BAMA, I would hope that winning NCs every other year would unite a fanbase. I live in Boulder, half of this fanbase wants their coach gone even though they won 10 games two years ago for the first time in a decade.
You think the Auburn fanbase is united? Some of them wanted to fire their coach before he rattled off two wins against BAMA and UGA.
The fans aren't the problem. Go on to your next bull shite argument, cause this one doesn't hold water.

best case scenario is for Orgeron lead us to a national title and then get fired the next day.

only someone that doesnt follow lsu would think the majority of lsu fans wanted to fire a coach that had just had his 4th top 5 finish in 6 years, his 3rd sec west title in 6 years, hos 2nd title game in 6 years.
you think the majority of lsu fans wanted to fire a coach that won 5 bowl games in 7 years?
wow

IMO most fans were satisfied with Nick Saban. I would have given 3 Les Miles for Nick to come back. That way, for Les we would have gotten MORE!

Seriously, when have we last had a united football fan base
I'm older than the average poster here, but was still a child for Bo Rein (RIP), Stovall tenure. Help Mac Pack wasn't in my window. Dalton-James Gang, Alan Risher is when I started listening on radio but still really young. When Arnsparger became HC, I think the fanbase was as united as I've seen. When I enrolled at LSU it was Archer's 3rd season, and shite had hit the fan. Then Curley... yikes.
DiNardo brought some good moments, for sure, Herb, Faulk, Mealey, Collins were memorable, but upset #1 UF one week and lose to Ole Miss the next week. Easily 1998 had hopes preseason #7, but drop LB nixed that quickly.
Saban came in from Emmert effort, but was a very stale introduction. Many fans questioned who this jackwagon was even though LSU paid him #3 coaching salary to hire him. Easily the UAB loss lost some fans, but that was the turning point. But still, even though a turnaround from 7-15 in 1998-1999 to an 8-4 and Peach Bowl win in 2000, to an SECC in 2001, to a 6-1 record in 2002 until Mauck got hurt, fans in stands still shat on Saban. Even in 2003, when the stars were aligning and any right mind could see how good that team was, there were still dumb fans.
That was the best team in LSU history I've seen with the best coach in CFG history and fans still bitched. Now we have the worst coach in Ole Miss history running the show, so the un-united is on a double down.

We are the fricking bi-Polar fan base of the SEC
a more loyal group of fans you will not encounter. but bipolar as hell.
used to be fans only hated the football coach but now they belittle him and attack him personally. I guess it's the internet and trump thing.

Bc lots of people saw les miles for who he was. A buffoon.
Posted on 4/8/18 at 5:53 am to TutHillTiger
It’s the nature of sports that you’re complaining about. Human nature is a varied thing, and a fanbase brings all of those variations to the table - the cynic, the optimist, the team builder, the individualist. Every fanbase is about the same. Just as all fans think their team is the only one that plays to the level of the competition, so they think their fans are the only contentious ones.
