LSU Steve - your comments are true.
What I have a hang up on, is that most times these coaches are the highest paid public employees in their state. The job doesn't require that to be the case, as their job isn't that important, on the scale of what should be important...I hope that capping an employee's salary is rooted in that premise. If the pay bands for a coach are infinite, then you can't curb what is truly an issue, maybe the issue, aside of the players.

Difference is that professional leagues have collective bargaining. The artificial caps on salaries are agreed to by players unions.
This proposed act has no input from the players. Players simply get what they are told. But, coaches have no limits. That is anti- American. Providing rights and privileges to some but not others is a step backward.

I think what some people are thinking is that this bill gives power back to the NCAA to enforce its bylaws is the way I understand it.

Well maybe a "step backwards" is what we need. Lately all the "progress" we make is absolutely shite compared to the way things were before.

I read early on this would stop any new lawsuits filed for five for five, but anybody already granted an injunction, like Trinidad would not be affected. There has been a lot of amendments filed so I’m not sure if that’s still the case with the final form of the senate bill or what form the house bill will be if passed.

My understanding is that in addition to one time free transfers it does leave graduate transfers in effect unless that was changed by an amendment.
