No one in SEC play is looking to see if fricking Beloso got a bunt down against the shift against Southeastern. They are still gonna shift against him because he hasn’t shown he can consistently hit the ball the other way. What’s he gonna do? Bunt with a runner at 2nd in SEC play because the shift is on? No. How about work on hitting the ball the other way instead of learning how to tap a bunt down the line. One is much more useful than the other.

Agreed. I don’t understand how anyone thinks it’s just absurd that Cabrera would try to lay one down against the shift.

What if there is a tough lefty on the mound? The odds of him reaching on a bunt against a shift and extend the inning could possibly be higher.
I could absolutely see him bunting against the shift in a key spot in a big game.
