They shouldn’t work on bunting in a game. Bunting work should be done in practice. Sadly most hitters don’t take bunting very seriously in practice.

Yea I think we all get the “logic” behind it, but it just shows an extreme lack of confidence right now when our 3 and 4 hole guys don’t go after the ball with a 3-run lead on SELU. Bunting 2 guys in a row there is just dumb. I don’t think that was Paul either. Just 2 of our best hitters in this team without the balls to say frick it and lead this team.

I don’t think you understand how little a college team “practices” throughout the week.
There’s 4-5 games every week and a time limit for how often a player can participate in team activities. No one is going to be spending hours bunting once the season starts.

You know what a game does that a practice doesn’t? It gives you game like pressure and scenarios. Even if it is against SELU the fact that there is a consequence to messing up helps more than any practice can.

So tell me this. You were taught to bunt with no outs as a 3-hole and a 3-run lead? I have honestly never heard of that. Like I said. I think it was the 2 players making the decision. Not once did I say fire Paul because he told them to do it.
