Maybe. This length of a brief is in character for some of the lawyers involved.

Well of course. I'm sure they are billing by the hour.

That line is taken out of context.

Even out of context, it is a thin reed to rest their case on.

Thematically, it adds to the "LSU is a bunch of outlaws" narrative.

Maybe the case exists solely for PR purposes.

Ultimately, I think you're right. If you don't actually read the filings, you might get fooled into thinking the case adds gravitas to the SEC (and media) PR campaign against LSU.

I hope the judge sees through this and sanctions the hell out of the SEC. AT LEAST, there should be an award of massive attorneys fees and costs.

Can each of us file a motion against Sankey to prevent him from (gr)aping us, and then keep it active while also delaying the hearings just in case he decides to try it the future?

I thought about intervening as a fan/donor. But I couldn’t make standing work. And I thought it might hurt LSU.

It can be exhilarating. It challenges me daily. And AI is just making it more interesting.

That said, many lawyers are unhappy in practice. I think we now surpass dentists in suicide and substance abuse. For many, it is a "fricking bummer." And those of us who enjoy it sometimes worry that it speaks to a flaw in our character more than anything else.

I've said this before. Many smart people are terrible lawyers. Many good lawyers are not necessarily top-of-the class. Law is a knack, a way of thinking.

It may have been better than mine. But sadly, I think she passed away, didn't she?

That reminds me. When Paul Finebaum finally kicks, and someone writes a glowing obituary about him, I am going to publish a dissent.

When I was young, I thought Louisiana was the king of corrupt states. But it doesn’t hold a candle to Alabama.

The entire state operates as a singular, corrupt machine. This includes the state’s government, two major universities, banking, Alabama power, the REC, BCA, and the SEC. It’s all incestuous.

The PCI and what’s left of the AEA/ADC are given their cut for playing along.

THEY DO NOT LIKE ANYONE WHO CHALLENGES THEIR AUTHORITY

I’ve seen you post this “it can be exhilarating” deal multiple times

Can literally be said about any profession

I will admit that lawyers are perfect for online discourse

In regards to the SEC argument that LSU will try to block the SEC’s ability to remove LSU from the conference, is the SEC arguing that LSU will try to block a vote on procedural grounds or that LSU will file suit if they are kicked out?

As I read it, they are saying that if they try to expel LSU, it will go to state court in Louisiana and seek an injunction. That seems to be the "threat" they identify on this point.

Many problems with that argument.

That is absolutely true. You have to find what fits you.

This fits me. Although I will admit that I also would have been excellent as a long-haul trucker.

I do it for the love of my team and my school. I literally owe everything to LSU.
