AG was right. Bait and switch. Collusion. Intentional and Vindictive. Arbitrary and capricious
Elements of anti-trust, LUPTA are front and center.
Judge easily could have held Sankey in contempt and he could have watched Week 1 in jail.
SEC may be freaked
AG has the money to hire any firm she wants to defend LSU too.

Its so weird when people spew garbage that has already been debunked IN THIS THREAD.

AG also believes LSU has immunity and can’t be sued in north Alabama.
The sec didn’t think LSU would stand for rule of law. Then threatened this through gay boy Ross and we still stayed with we follow court orders.
Now they are trying to sue a member institution. The problem they have is they did not sue Alabama over bediko

Edit: bc if what Todd Monken was saying is true that Lane reached out before the TE was cut that’s recruiting professionals
What rule does that break?
Calling a coach and asking if he’s cutting a player who has eligibility left and can play one more year in college isn’t breaking any rules. The SEC made a rule about what their definition of a professional athlete is and wether they can play, and nowhere is there a mention of contacting eligible players. You also can’t retroactively punish someone for a rule that wasn’t in place at the time of alleged infraction.

List of 5 for 5 examples too.
And Sankey is on record unable to define professional.
Well, all of them get paid. The hard line was amateurs don’t get paid. All are professionals.
SEC looks like out of control low level mafia.

That's not belief. That's an immutable fact.

Clinging to the last thread of relevance the SEC has. If they do it it’ll be the beginning of the implosion of the SEC and conferences generally at least as we know them.
Oh, and LSU would sue the shite of them and win bigly.

But it is ok for OM to send a text to a guy that was enrolled and in class at Clemson, offering him $1m. Dude already signed and in class. It was alright for Chambliss to get denied by the NCAA twice, deservedly so, and then get an OM Judge to file an injunction and he plays his 6th year? Everyone knows the throat stuff was bs....he wasn't good enough to play back then and Ferris State said as much.
The SEC is selective and inconsistent with their bs....and it will cost them.

I suspect Todd was told by the legal team that what he was doing was slander....that he better have the facts.

I hate to point this out but the league illustrated a lack of comprehension of the issues. They apparently live in a bubble. They mistakenly think that CLK and LSU perpetrated this and are just trying to put an NFL team on the field for a competitive advantage. Which isn't the fact.
Might be time for new leadership.

It was an embarrassing performance by him on the stand. It made the SEC look very weak in its top leadership. This whole situation does. What the hell is the SEC trying to do here? They already have multiple former professionals playing in the league. If this isn't selective enforcement against LSU I don't know what is. They have allowed players in the league that were much less justified than these 22' players.
I do too suspect that Sankey will be removed. The problem is that it APPEARS that all the schools are all falling in line with the SEC...so who is going to fire him? It is all going to get interesting, and this is all Sankey's doings. Ultimately, I do not believe that the SEC will come out on top of any of this, and this selective enforcement towards LSU was an attempt to tarnish the reputation of LSU across the country, and I believe the judge alluded to that yesterday when he stated he did see some potential damages, during his ending summary.

Or better yet liberal amount of discovery

I understand that, they aren’t stopping the players from playing though. They’d be punishing Lane for not following conference rules
Punishing Lane or LSU could be viewed as a coercive tactic used to force LSU to defy a court order.

No, that’s the one you are going down.

Difficult if not impossible to prove for one
Besides was there a rule that prevented that? It is not like he was recruiting Jammar Chase or Justin Jefferson to come back, he was recruiting kids who were wrongfully (according to more than just the decision yesterday) unlawfully denied the right to return for their 5th year
And finally, it seems very relevant that the SEC did not file suit agains Nate Oats and Alabama after playing a guy spent 3 YEARS in the NBA G League. That fact alone sets a precedent and shows selective enforcement by the SEC

One thing became perfectly clear yesterday. This is no longer the SEC versus a few players or the SEC versus LSU. This is now the SEC versus the state of Louisiana.
How often does Attorney General bring her legal team and file a brief at a civil case? How often does the governor comment on a civil case while the case is going on?
