SEC presidents have called a meeting for Thursday, sources tell @SINow.
Texas & OU took the first step in joining the league today. The second step is applying for membership, which is expected but hasn't yet happened as of Monday at 5 ET.
The third step: SEC presidential vote.

At this point I’m just curious if A&M sticks to their guns or it’s unanimous

I think it would be a PR hit if they voted against. I mean they’ve been in the league for a decade, it’s time to man up and stop running scared.

LSU’s annual cut will grow by at least $6MM, more than 10%. They’re not saying no.

If the SEC says they want two eight-team divisions with LSU in the West with Texas, Oklahoma, A&M, Arkansas and Missouri - something that resembles the old SWC more than the SEC - then that should be a problem. A setup like that would leave LSU playing regular season games with Alabama, Georgia, Florida, etc... about once every 10 years? The pod system is the only one that solves the scheduling issues.

There will be four pods in place with LSU being with A&M, Ole Miss and State.

I’m hearing Texas and Oklahoma are crawfishing at the last second and don’t want in anymore. They’re instead joining the SWAC and taking Missouri with them

I hope Woodward votes NO, so that when it is 13-1 everyone will blame A&M.

Wouldn't it be President Tate who has the vote? Or do they mean Athletic Directors?

the PR hit might be if the 3 schools that all ran away (A&M, Mizzou, Arky) all voted against.

I just hope if this goes through, aTm gets the shaft. - - Escapes Texas shadow by going to SEC
- Plays second fiddle to SEC no matter how much they try to convince everyone
- Texas joins SEC and instantly relegates aTm back to the bottom under shadow.

The SEC doesn't need them. Dilutes the SEC.

Correct. Only the Presidents vote.

If A&M doesn't expect any other "no" votes, they might just abstain. I don't see them voting yes.
