SEC Lineman Of The Week: Garrett Brumfield

In first career start, graded out at 86 percent for highest among LSU linemen against BYU.

LSU's offense racked 479 total yards (294 rushing, 185) and accounted for 26 first downs in the win.

The Tigers held the ball for 41:54 and averaged 6.4 yards a play.

Led Tigers with 12 knockdown blocks and no sacks.

For the game, LSU had only three negative yards plays, didn't allow a sack and didn't turn the ball over.

That is an insane stat, especially the negative yards plays. That line was really getting a push all night.

Not one local guy has said a word about Brumfield's performance, and he's LSU's top performer. Ha!

Such is the life of an offensive linemen who's getting the job done.

GREAT to see. Was a top-100 ESPN recruit when he came out of HS. Glad he is getting his opportunity and making the most of it. Keep Charging!

Awesome local talent. Patient and waited for his opportunity. Didn't cut and run if he didn't start right away even though he was very highly rated coming out of high school. Great job GB! Well deserved credit for a job well done!!

He and the whole OL unit looked great. Looked like he might have been getting lost in depth chart last year but glad to see him now contributing
