I am sure LSU/Kiffin will be joining as Additional Defendants every SEC school who recruited the same players LSU/Kiffin are being sued for recruiting. The Joinder complaint will likely have affdavits attached from the players naming names and schools in the SEC that recruited them. This will lead to discovery, depositions, etc. all under oath.

Plus, how can LSU/Kiffin be sued for recruiting pro athletes ;like that is some cause of action (the rule didn't even exist at the alleged times). Heck, the still aren't officially on the roster. This is all posturing by SEC....

They’re suing LSU and Kiffin claiming detriment to the conference. Saying the actions of Kiffin and LSU asking athletes to sue the SEC has caused the conference harm

The SEC says that the August 25 "memo" where they essentially define a pro athlete for the first time ever was just a clarification of existing rules.

They already knew this would be an issue.

I'm interested to see if the SEC is truly willing to go through discovery with all of this. I feel like this is now more ego then logic.

The FBI already came in and showed Pete Golding how to delete all of his calls/texts/pictures he sent to the linebacker enrolled at Clemson.

Doing the same for Dae’Quan Wright is a piece of cake.

LSU isn't even a proper Defendant.

If this thing ever got to the point where people were being deposed (it won't) then the SEC would have to sue every single head coach in the conference.

Count 4 of the complaint basically classifies players who have "entered the draft" as ineligible professional athletes. That alone negates any school like Texas' argument about "well they didn't sign anywhere!"

This is all posturing. If the players (NOT LSU, as LSU is not a party to the suit in the 19th despite everyone reporting as if they are) win today, we will call the SEC's bluff. If they lose, there is no more suit in federal court.

The SEC isn’t going to let conference dirt spill in a federal court. I just don’t see them being that stupid.

Every other school could be implicated that has recruited professionals of any kind, and who knows what kind of bag of worms would be opened.

So what happens when Wright takes the stand and says “ole Miss was trying to recruit me as well”

I think this is all getting blown out of proportion and is a giant bluff but at what point are bridges burned? I am actually asking because there has to be a point to where LSUs brass says this is enough and they start shopping with other conferences...the conference is supposed to have your back in certain situations....i.e Chambliss, Diego Pavia, etc.

The NCAA teaming up with the SEC to fight players from 2022 class that were deliberately left out of the 5 for 5 rule. While players from previous classes have been given a 6th yr and those in 2023 are given 5. Why are they discriminating against a single class?

Did the NCAA tell all the conferences to hold a vote on new rules that would ban 2022 class players from having a 5th yr?

The actions by the NCAA have been detrimental to the conferences and sports

Uhm........LSU didn't and doesn't have to do this.

Attorneys and Civil Rights Activist are salivating at the mouth to represent these athletes against the SEC and any other Conference and Institutions refusing to allow these players to play.

I thought the same thing, then they filed this suit.

It's an extradorinaiy misstep in my opinion. They will have to make a decision if the players win in state court today:

1. Expel LSU; or
2. Do nothing and show you are powerless.

They didn't have to do this. This has Keith Carter written all over it.

If they win in state court, you have to start having conversations.

The B1G will likely offer you a ton of money to join their conference. They'd capture the southern market. I only worry about baseball.

Wonder how the SEC will explain in discriminant enforcement of there rules that they say have “always existed”

Considering Alabama played a former pro athlete 5 games last year and the SEC did nothing

I wouldn't worry about Baseball...we would likely get a solid portion of our home games early in Conference play due to the Northern Schools, Oregon, Oregon St. Etc.

LSU baseball is too big of a brand in the sport...IMO though

Texas will then argue the semantics of “entering” the draft.
he was a senior, so he doesn’t have to “enter” it, his name is just automatically out there and available.

it’s bullshite, but its technical bullshite like this that seems to prevail.

It should be dismissed for lack of merit. Even if it isn't, countersuit is incoming. SEC leadership is acting against the advice of in-house counsel (clearly), and they're going to learn what that gets them.

The people downvoting you for making a logical thought is evidence of how unhinged subsections of the LSU fan base is

You go to the ACC and you have Miami, Florida State, Clemson in football, and they have basketball and baseball.

Conferences really may not matter as much in the future with no conference championships that will come with an expanded playoff. We aren’t going anywhere though.

The ACC has the worst TV contract of any of the P4 and all of their premier members want out.

You maybe play baseball in the conference, but you don't play football there. If you're unable to get into the B1G, you sign a Notre Dame type TV deal and stay independent.
