I don't think there should be any non-reviewable calls. Screw the integrity of the officiating. I don't care one bit about that. Get it right. Keep it fare to the competitors.
I totally agree, while it needs to be exiguous to necessitate the call to the upstairs official, and also very quick because games do not need to be longer. They should've just been transparent about this new implementation. But, the SEC office is now caught in a lie, because they denied using the replay official on field judgment calls--and it's obvious that they have been using the replay official in that way lately.

Pretty sure that they are talking to the replay official up in the booth right?

Does anyone really have any doubt as to who is behind this?
It's obvious: Buffalo Wild Wings. Haven't we all seen their commercials where they basically brag about their corrupt influences on football officiating?

Yes, presumably using the replay official on calls technically not permissible for review.

doesn't each stadium have it's own "replay official"?
I seem to remember something like this when the patrick peterson 2009 pick happened

I agree. There have been some calls this season that stink to the high heavens of a fix. The sports that are popular in asia- English soccer, the NBA, have been getting fixed by the chinese mafia for years.
ETA: if it's fixed, I really don't care.

What if someone investigates, finds a huge level of corruption and favoritism for top teams, and then calls into question the integrity of the league over the past 10 years. Wouldn't that be something?
While I get that it would be a fiasco in the conference, it's not like the rest of the nation would feel like they deserved anything but that run of championships on them.
It's not like we would have manipulated teams to get into a MNC that didn't belong there.
The streak proves it.

You have to admit, the SEC has the worst officials. At least for LSU games, especially versus Alabama and Auburn over the years.

This whole matter of bad officiating especially when LSU plays Bama or Auburn is one reason it will be great to see Slive go--he can't leave soon enough.

Are you lobbying that only calls be made by the referees that are field level with the action?
Well according to the article, the rules are there isn't supposed to be someone making the calls that isn't on the field. If you read about the game in question he said it took over 2 minutes for the ref to make that call. So essentially someone was reviewing it and made the call down.
If that is happening, then someone is reviewing plays that aren't supposed to be reviewed. Integrity comes in question when its a mystery person making these calls. If you think this is something they should do, then in every game every play should be reviewed. And they should be up front about it. Not do it secretly.
I have no problem with getting calls rt. The problem is they aren't. And this is why the whole thing stinks.

Slive's officials will always do whatever necessary to try to assure that those teams with a shot at the title don't get tripped up along the way.
