Did D1 have us in their early Omaha 2019 prediction?

He'll lose to LSU again no matter how good of a season he has

I wouldn’t say top 5 at all and debatable top 10 coach. Van Horns teams choke about as much as Mike Martins do

Top 10 coaches in no particular order:

PM
Sully
Casey
Corbin
Schlossnagle
Tadlock
Savage
Martin
Vanderhook
Fox

The last 2 names can probably be debated, but I think the top 8 are pretty solid. Van Horn is certainly in the conversation for top 10, but I don’t think he is close to top 5.

Vandy is always fortunate getting stud arms to campus. Rocker is a top 10 pick talent but had an injury that hurt his stock.

To me he is around 8th best, and very much underappreciated. Dude took nebraska to omaha....twice. But regardless, i think with everything they lost they will be middle of the pack next year. Losing vitello on the recruiting trail may hurt them as well.

Nice. Seems like we'll be a clear preseason top 5 next year.

I'd love for Vandy to tell LSU the secret of how they keep managing to get multiple top flight pro prospect pitchers to pass on the pros and go to college. They do this almost every year, it's amazing.

LSU has had its fair share of pitchers make it to campus.

Plus Vandy has an almost unfair advantage over other SEC schools being a private institution.

Academic scholarships are an “unfair advantage”? That’s a shitty way of looking at it.

I assumed they would fall apart on the second half (per usual). Never happened.

It happened with 2 outs in the 9th inning of game 2.

Here’s a good article.

Is it fair that some schools can give out huge amounts of aid while others cannot? Nope. But college baseball is like life — it never has been fair, and it never will be. You can either complain about it, or you can put your head down and do your best with what you’ve got.

You can’t fault Corbin, he’s using his advantages being a private school in offering institutional scholarships along with the 11.7.

I answered a question as to why Vandy is able to get so many top players. They can offer more scholarship money to kids, compared to other schools. That is facts. It is what it is, but it does give them an edge.

When it happened, I turned to my wife and said, "Wow, Oregon State is going to win this game, and probably the CWS now."

She asked, "Why? How do you know this?"

I replied, "That's baseball. An entire season comes down to one silly little mistake that 9/10 times is routinely done correctly."

I also explained how the Baseball Gods tend to take it away the moment you squander an easy opportunity to win it all.

I love baseball.

Tops only helps with Louisiana kids. It helps, no doubt, but they can't give TOPS out to anybody outside the state.
