He technically won a national championship in football the year he came in. He’s the greatest of all time

Ed O is only on his resume for the extension and that’s not a win lol

Glaring? Really?
Zipped right past inconsequential, noticeable, or even potential and went to glaring

Well, I mean, yeah but he did that mainly with Brodhead's hires.

Technically yes, but Emmert really worked that deal out.

Very possible, especially if he drops the whole "woke" politics thing. His "FIRST in the SEC!" vaccination card policy that all 13 other SEC schools refused to adopt significantly hurt LSU football attendance for the 2021 season when that team badly needed every fan that it could get to boost its morale.

If he:

-Fixes mens basketball
-JJ and/or BK get a natty

I say yes.

Mens BB currently a repair in progress. I met WW but he needed to be cut. The boy lied to his boss.

JJ- If the moves he made thus far and this amazing team he has put together don't work for you, then you are a hard arse to please.

BK- Same as above for JJ. He won the West in year one and beat Bama/Saban!! Took 38 players left and went 10-4, then in year 2 his roster is better... Geez, what else you want

Mulkey- She needs to win a natty by year 3-4 and then put together the GOAT women's team after her first natty..... Oh wait..... Well, DONE by year 2!!!

Gets great coaches but he spends big / takes on a lot of contract risk to do so. So far, it’s working in 3 out of 4 of the big sports.

One glaring weakness that he has yet to address is Softball. Just like Nikki Fargas had really been given wayyyyyyy too long to find success, Beth Torina has outlived her value to the program. While I'm sure she is a fine individual, it is apparent that she can't measure up to other coaches that produce high level play. She doesn't get paid for her character! Instead of a winning combination...she's brought mediocrity & stagnation. Time for Beth to go...

While I do agree that it’s frustrating that Torina hasn’t made it over the hump, I can’t deny that Woodward is in a really tough spot with that situation. You fire a fairly consistent winner that just hasn’t quite struck gold yet and what does that say to potential candidates? It’s win big or you’re canned. Not the best look for an employer. Plus it’s softball… Not really a make or break program when it comes to the athletic department financially. I think if you’re Woodward you sit on Torina until she gives a good reason to let go, if that comes. Hate to break it to you but that moment isn’t quite there yet. She’ll need a couple of mediocre seasons before that is even in the equation, which is exactly what Woodward is sitting on I think… Torina has given Les results but hasn’t quite hit that fire zone yet. Hopefully she proves everyone wrong but I think you’re not seeing the bigger picture if you think we should can her now

Bertman hired:

National champion football coach
National champion baseball coach
Men's basketball final 4 coach
Women's basketball three final 4 coach

Right now the only reason anyone else can make an argument is because another guy hired skip

At times, you have to spend money to make money. Have you seen LSU Sports when they try to save money? Football won 10 games and the West! Baseball was SRO for this alabama series, ranked #1. Women’s Basketball was putting more fans in the stands, won the NC.

Now you tell me, would you rather spend less, and take little risk?

Woodys done just what he’s payed to do.

Enjoy the Golden Years at LSU!

I think Jim Corbett has retired that trophy.

Jim was very good, no doubt. Great guy, time cut way too short. During that time, we only won two National Championships. Woody will get way more than that.

Corbett's contributions to making LSU part of the national college football conversation should not be overlooked. He took a athletic program languishing in mediocrity and brought them back to the national stage (as the Tigers had been in the 20s and 30s).

At this point I’m not sure what id enjoy more:
A bball natty

LSU just dominating in every other sport and watching the will wade disciples mental gymnastics on how bad woody is.

I mean, clearly I’d enjoy the bball natty but I wouldn’t not enjoy the other option.

Too bad a lot of them didn’t. You would think they would learn. Many tried to save on the Football Coach, the cash cow, trying to save money?
