So tank the basketball program or the football program? that was his choice and he made the right one

Because let’s be honest what can be done by an average fan like myself? I didn’t go to the game as a season ticket holder and haven’t been in a few weeks. I can send an email to what’s provided publicly and there is a phone number that’s obviously not his. I want him to answer about the state of the program from when he came in and took the job as AD to what it is now.

I’ll ask you “Hot Carl” are you happy with the state of the basketball program? You’re very aggressive behind your key board and I’m not certain why

Then maybe you know, he’s a good coach in a bad situation.
Or keeping guys together at a mid-major longer is easier and allows them to really develop and mature from an individual and team perspective.
Maybe he needs to rethink how to change his team to maximize 1 /2 and domes.

Cut the shite about this man. He throws money at coaches and hits sometimes. Hired buzz Williams...aTm hoops has been arse till this season. Jimbo is a hack. Gave him a zillion.
Struck golf with BK. Jay Johnson seems good to this point. We'll find out this year.
So stop that he's some great director. He's a high roller at the poker table. Sometimes you hit a hot streak but most of the time you lose your arse

The basketball program is now tanked anyway. Let the NCAA investigate, hand a post season ban and maybe vacate wins and move on with Wade running the show

Who was better Mr. Athletic Director?
Posted on 2/12/23 at 7:35 am to chadr07
Auburn just hired a better one.

He had to recruit a basketball coach telling that coach we may have loss of scholarships and postseason. He wasn’t getting anyone worthwhile.
He could have told the NCAA to frick off like Kansas did. Could have also told them you don't have the power to frick with the football program so you're not holding that over our head to punish basketball.
No, he wanted an excuse to hire his own guy because he didn't hire Wade.

If you think SW isn’t acutely aware of how miserable we are currently at basketball, you’re living in a dream world. If you think he had any other option than to terminate WW, you’re living in The Matrix.
At the end of the day, Woodward did the only thing he could to avoid the hammer coming down from the NCAA. His #1 job is to protect the Athletic Department. What would have had him do exactly? Sure, MM is panning out to be terrible this year, when literally the entire roster outside of 1 player bolted.
Bottom line, we won’t be good in basketball for a while because of one man. And it’s not Scott Woodward. We all know paying players had been happening for decades, but Wade did a shite job of covering his tracks and got popped. He, and he alone, is responsible for his firing.

Wade definitely made some bonehead moves, but you expect him to trust Alleva?

It’s so obvious here who has never been close to management before
Firing Wade was likely one of the easiest and non controversial decisions of Woodward’s working career
Imagine this situation, Kansas has a new AD. The AD has a football coach that goes 7-5 or 8-4 every year and makes the cheez it bowl. That coach was caught in huge controversy before the AD got there. Then he gets caught in another public shite storm
Everyone here would expect that coach to be fired immediately and wouldn’t think twice. That’s the equivalent of what happened here with Wade. It was such an easy call for Woodward

More like Kansas went from 0 for in the BIG12 to BIG 12 champs. Texas whined about it, and the incompetent athletic department poisoned the water and then eventually fired the coach instead of recognizing that Texas has no power and will be gone in 5 years.

We never truly won shite with Wade. We were a perennial above average make the tournament team. Congrats. That’s not worth taking a bullet for when it’s your second sport
