A better idea would be to stick with Kelly for now and let Indiana’s coach get more exp. Then go throw the back at him and offer him 1 million per year.

Kelly is a by-product of his coordinators, not vice versa. He better hope Baker stays.

Wut?

$1 million per year?

Also, Cignetti is older than BK

This is true of pretty much every coach.

That said, you don't win over 70% of your games as a Division I head coach if you aren't good at what you do.

LSU can't afford to move on from Kelly in the next 2 seasons.

Most elite college head coaches have an expertise on one side of the ball or the other. What’s Kelly’s?

It's fairly well known that he is more involved with the offensive side of the ball and has called plays.

From a 2014 CBS Sports article regarding him handling play calling at Notre Dame:
quote:

Kelly has no shortage of experience or success calling plays, handling that role at various times both with Notre Dame and in his previous stops at Cincinnati and Central Michigan.

I thought that's what Frank Wilson came back to do

Besides, Honeybadger already laid claim to the HC title for when he retires from the NFL.

Yep, which why he can’t win with this board. Everyone says why doesn’t he hire a young, up and coming coordinator!!!????

But even talking about that possibility will get you laughed off this site if it were ever a remote possibility.

Can’t please this crowd

Hiring a young, up and coming guy that had head coaching experience is fine IMO. But, you can't put a guy in that position without even knowing if they can handle the pressures of being a HC much less if they can handle doing it in the SEC at school expecting to win championships.

Theoretically if Blake were next, we would want him to go to Tulane and get some reps as HC.
