I was a member of Mikes site for years and he was never one to throw players under the bus.The fact that he was so critical of Nuss tells me somebody on LSUs staff ore administration gave this info to him to light a fire under their QBs but.Mike does a great job with his site. Some people just can’t take criticism of their team or players.

people are upvoting a Scarborough take? the guy hasn't been relevant in 20 years and just looking for clicks. He's such a tool and Buddy is worse

This was my first impression. I understand fans on a message board bitchin whether I agree or not but a LSU media member trashing a key player like this just looks like somebody who has lost his foothold on his turf and is trying to regain relevance. Story does not have to be true, just needs to get his name in front of paying customers.

So after doing a hit piece on the key player how much favor do you think he lands with LSU media, staff, and players. Looks like professional suicide to me. If this was offseason maybe different.

Why would that affect the velocity of his pass and also underthrowing receivers? Putting in work or not would not cut down on how fast and far he can throw the ball, that comes from being hurt.

There is SOME truth to this. But only some. Nuss does watch a lot of film, and I mean a lot of film. He didn't use the VR like Kelly wanted but again to be fair not every QB uses the VR as that is a new thing and not every QB uses it so not going to hate on him for that especially when he is watching a lot of film.

Secondly, as it relates to the weight room not every QB needs to be a workout warrior. Most QBs aren't. Now he did do a lot of throwing and working on his mechanics while also doing sprints and stretching. His speed was up from last year.

Where Nuss deserves the criticism is that he is not showing up at 5/6:00am watching film at the facility. Joe Burrow and Jayden were both guys that showed up early at the facility before everyone else. That is not really Nuss but he does watch a lot of film it just more on his own time or scheduled time with coaches. The extra time at the facility has not been there during his tenure which is where the deserved criticism could be had but the rest of it is misleading.

And to be fair there are a lot of QBs who didn't put in that extra effort while being the QB at a major university or LSU it just so happens that 2 of the last 4 QBs were unicorns in their work ethic so hes being judged against them.

How do you all know about this VR system? I’d love to hear more about it. Is it proprietary to LSU or does most major programs have something similar?

It’s not proprietary to LSU, but LSU was a leader in that technology and JD5 mastered it between his Junior and Senior years. It was said many times by JD5 himself that the VR system was key to his big jump. He even referenced that same thing in an interview after one of his NFL games last year.

It’s pretty well known that the coaching staff said JD5 was a sponge with the VR system and would have them crank it up faster than actual game play. He said if he could master it faster, the actual game play would slow down. And that’s exactly what happened.

Yea Jamarcus was one who didn’t put in the work, that’s why Nick had him on the bench. With the Raiders his lack of passion for the game cost him a long career.

First of all his dads name ain’t that big lol he has regressed significantly since just last year. He was on some people’s preseason heisman lists.

I do agree with him in that if Nuss is/was hurt as bad as they want us to believe then there’s no way he plays as much as he did vs SELU

Why not? If my coach (who has the ability to bench me) asked me to use it to help me improve and told me that the previous QB who improved tremendously and won a Heisman also used it to improve, it would seem like a no-brainer to use it. It seems like a great tool for anyone who wants to improve their game.

Not being able to throw it 15 yards has nothing to do with prep work. Nuss zip is half what it was last year.

One is being paid millions of dollars to be in shape and not play like a giant pussy at one of the most prestigious college football all programs in the country.

me also. Nuss is quite obviously injured in his body trunk....ribs or internal muscle tear or serious strain. Any athlete that has had that sort of injury knows how difficult a throwing motion can be. To say he is not battling some sort of injury, when you can look at his motion last year against this year, and it is extremely obvious to anyone that isn't pushing some other nonsense....for click bait maybe!!!

Nuss is not consistent though. It’s a fact.

Was Burrow consistent prior to Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall.

Was Nuss more consistent when he was throwing the ball to Boutte, Thomas, and Nabers. Hmmmm?

What's the difference? Throwing to three first team NFL stars, as soon as they reached the field, or throwing to three wannabes.

Great Quarterbacks elevate their receivers. Nuss simply isn’t that guy. Should’ve never been mentioned in the realm of Jayden or Joe to begin with

Mahomes, Brady, Daniels...among the many QB's who have used it to master their respective playbooks.

Biggest critic thus far? Dan fricking Orlovsky. That tells me pretty much all I need to know.

Whatever is going on, it’s team first. Play your best QB. Don’t waste this defense. Don’t be stubborn or loyal to a struggling player.
