I cant stand people who just want to automatically blame the head coach for stuff like this. What was O supposed to do?, get on his knees and beg and offer Smith a blowjob to get him to stay?
I don't blame O, but the standard position he should take is full release after year 3. Until then, no release...barring extenuating circumstances.

Same here we all want the same thing when it's all said and done. Our tigers back to the elite status and of course beating Bama again so

This thread is pathetic

Like I said 7 pages of Smith transferring and the rest is Coach O love him or hate him

Even if he doesn't have success there he would have excelled here IMO. Exactly what we needed. An offensive minded HC that only has to continue hiring great DCs. Which we can attract. We are totally dependent upon both coordinator hires with a Miles or Orgeron. Which can eventually have some success but not sure how much sustained and there may always be that 10 win bar.
People will bring up Dabo being a position coach but I have a feeling he'd make a great OC (just gut feeling), yet not sure about O as a DC. Plus he had success in his first stint as HC. Any ways, I give O a pass at Ole Miss. He has learned from that and can be successsful here with recruiting. Just wonder about the limit. Herman at LSU would have struck concern into Bama.
That's over with though and let's enjoy the coordinators we have.

Like I said earlier with Texas A&M, TCU, Baylor slipping Texas will get some talent.

No, CEO was out of football because he didnt get USC gig.
He did not get the HC gig. USC wanted to retain Coach O but he decided to leave. He could have stayed at USC that year but wasn't happy he didn't become HC and decided to sit out. That is a fact.

Not one of those is running a program. Games, yes. Program? Silly.
Wow, you sound pretty smart. Please explain what a regular full-time head coach does that an interim does not do. I'm sure there are so many differences it shouldn't take but a few seconds to just name the biggest differences. I eagerly await your response. Thanks in advance.

Objective it seeing forest through the trees
What? You throw random shite in your posts sometimes.

Your blind hope is okay
Why is it blind? Didn't Coach O take over LSU after four games last season. Didn't he go 7-2 with a TE's coach running the offense? Was one of those losses to Alabama - did Alabama lose a lot of games last year - is it rare for them to win a game? Didn't he make great firings, retentions, promotions and hirings. If not let me know what he messed up in. Did he not have the #7 recruiting class while being the head coach for a few months and only signing 23 players?
There's actually more but I think that is enough to show that my optimistic opinion of LSU's future is not based on blind hope and is actually based on quite a bit of substantial statistics and events.
quote:
But that doesn't mean I believe objectively that there is any evidence justifying that hope.
There is no evidence to justify you writing off the future of the LSU football program. I have listed a lot including firings, hirings, performance and recruiting facts that counter your single no-basis argument that the head coach sat out a year.

Lol. Maybe 2 pages worth of info on Saivion Smith transferring and 10 plus pages of shitting on the HC.
Never change, Rant.

Gundy? Does that guy look like he belongs at LSU? Chip Kelly? Recruits fricking hate Chip Kelly. Fedora? What makes him better than Orgeron? Is it because North Carolina wins 8 games some times?
I think Joe Alleva hired a coach that is one of the best in the business at connecting to his players. Kind of like Les Miles. Alleva hired one of the best recruiters in the game. Kind of like Les Miles. Alleva hired a coach who has been around the game a long time and has seen many college football operations. Kind of like Les Miles. Les Miles would still be here today if he was able to just not mess with the offense. Ed Orgeron is a defensive coach. Most of all this man genuinely loves LSU. That will go a long way. Further than most would probably believe. If the man has a losing record after year 3 y'all can say I told you so and bring up his Ole Miss record from 15 years ago which honestly has probably made him a better coach. But what's the point of moping about the hire until there's reason to do so? Give him a chance he's done enough to deserve it. Lastly if you have a complaints about what Orgeron is paid your opinion should instantly be deemed useless. You just don't get it.
The skeptics really can't feel this energy that has been surrounding the program since the hire and signing day? It feels fricking good man. We could still all crash and burn but I'm fricking pumped to find out which one it will be.

I was just scrolling through the explore page on my instagram and sure enough a post he made earlier today was on it. It was a picture of him in his LSU uniform and the only caption was the broken heart emoji. I'm not much on stalking social media or deciphering people'a post, but that appears that he's legitimately upset about leaving.
Posted on 6/1/17 at 4:42 am to MasterAbe1
Well he's not dumb. He sees what we can't. He clearly sees talent that will keep him off the field at LSU.

I wonder why he didn't thank Aranda in his tweet
Posted on 6/1/17 at 6:19 am to MasterAbe1
Nothing is ever guaranteed, anywhere, anytime. If he was getting passed on the depth chart (which appears to be the case), he needs to work harder. If it's something else well that's a family decision. Historically these moves don't translate into stardom at any other program or level. Best of luck to you.

Who else has left this offseason besides him and Brandon Harris? I know Willie Allen may be leaving as well. Smh
