The Saints are statistically better after 2 preseason games without Brees than they were under 8 preseason ganes with Brees in for at least 2 Qtrs when Brees was QB.
With Brady on the coaching staff:
8 games 19.5 PPG 134 YPG Rushing 176 YPG Passing 310 YPG Total
2 Games this season 2 PPG 152 YPG Rushing 178 YPG Passing 330 YPG Total
So if you buy that Brady had a real impact on the Saint offense and will have that same impact on LSU, I'm not sure that is reason for optimism, particularly regarding the passing game.
If, on the other hand, you feel in Brady's 2 years as an offensive assistant under Sean Payton he learned a great deal from one of the best offensive minds in the NFL then that is a reason for optimism. I go with that philosophy.
