And punching another player repeatedly while he’s on the ground isn’t? That is one hypocritical little man, no wonder he identifies with the Democratic Party.

+1 You would have thought that he and the officials would have been concerned about player safety over the Mack Wilson hit. Saban is such a false a-hole.

It doesn't matter what he says about it. The fact that he says anything about it is good. Attention is being brought to the situation. Even when analysts chime in and say they agree with the call or whatever "by the letter of the law". Bringing acknowledgement to it is good.

Thats right and since the Bama/refs didn't call roughing, targeting or having his player thrown out he pulls out his licence to give his expert opinion.

not really sure why anyone would get mad at saban for saying this. it's literally the most non-answer answer I've ever seen.

I don't know the cat. But him speaking truth to some mouth breather who is trying to politicize football doesn't make him an idiot.

we’ve got lots of people who make those decisions. It’s a player safety rule. We’ve got people in the booth who look at replays, and that’s why we do it -- so they get it right.
And who is this “we” Nick? Is “we” representative of an impartial sample? Or is this “we” more centered around ensuring a favorable outcome for a certain coach and team? You are exposed!

Did he even say this? And if so, what would have been the impetus in 2002?

Yeah and Nick doesn't look at his Tennessee game film from Saturday. This is his "politically correct" response.

Saban was one of the first to call out the ridiculousness of the targeting rule in 2013. Now he’s like.. eh it’s cool.

The refs will call this game tight—because of this. The REFEREES are squarely in the spotlight for this upcoming game. And it will hurt Alabama more than LSU.
