Following spring practice, segments of LSU supporters are experiencing a relapse of catastrophe syndrome. Head coach Nick Saban was the first to put a label on the malady that leads sufferers to take what are normal, everyday occurrences in college football and blow them up into fatal concerns.

The latest bout of catastrophe syndrome deals the setbacks LSU sustained during the recently completed session of spring practice. But perhaps with an early diagnosis, fans, and more importantly players, can avoid making mountains out of the molehills that arose during the month of April.

We all know what happened next

He correctly diagnosed y’all 20 years ago and here you are still doing the same old shite. People were freaking out about something after watching Saban for 2 years and a year before we won a championship with the greatest coach in college football history.

The point is even back then people failed to understand what was really happening or the path we were on. Yet you think you have Brian Kelly figured out after 1 game.

Wake up

Denbrock trotted out a Cam Cameron offense last night

If you're cool with that...cool?

You say this, but LSU looked really bad in every facet of the game last night. The only reason we didn’t lose by two scores to a not good FSU team was horrendous coaching by FSU in the final couple minutes.

This isn’t April and there are real concerns about this staff. Maybe they’ll correct them but they weren’t prepared at all to give us good football in game 1 so now it’s on them to earn our patience.

No you didn't...Saban had nowhere near the head coaching experience and success Kelly has now. He was still really an unproven coach with 34-24-1 record at Michigan State when he got the job at LSU...

Our fan base is why it is so hard to have consistency when it comes to coaches. The average lifespan of an LSU coach since Cholly Mac has been a little over 5 years and we generally start trying to run them off after 4 years with Saban being the lone exception. Hell, we were screaming for Miles' head in 2008.

Saban.

Gone and never coming back. The low key yearning that still goes on is disgusting.

That’s dumb, what coach should we have kept that we ran off?

I’ll do you one better.

No one did 2/3 of the way through his second year.

We lost Ole Miss at home for our 3rd SEC loss of the season.

Only after that game did LSU start catching some momentum.

The worse thing Kelly did was fluff this roster all off season.

You can’t do that with this fan base because they cannot make reasonable opinions on their own.

He’s partially responsible for this for not developing reasonable expectations

Kelly needs to get some young, smart, offensive analysts on this staff.....maybe has already has them, but it did not show up on the field.

You weren’t alive then. If you were you would have been just like the rest clamoring and wrenching their fists. Saban had a great class and full roster when he came in. He came in off of the worse time in LSU football history so a winning record was considered GREAT. He also didn’t have to deal with NIL and a transfer portal where players would be able to leave without sitting out and schools, like TAMu being able to pay them where La laws were unfavorable to doing the same thing.
You are just like every single other person born in the last 40 years. Bunch of now cry babies who don’t really understand shite.

Kelly inherited 39 Scholarship players. THIRTY frickING NINE WITH THR NCAA AND A TITLE IX LAWSUIT HANGING OVER HIS HEAD AND HAD TO TRY TO BUILD A ROSTER.

Saban (without the transfer portal) also won 8 games his first year after taking over for Dinardo. I think LSU won one conference game the year before (after GD was fired). Last night was a crap fest. We'll see what happens from here.

There's very few programs these days that keep their coaches for very long. Clemson, Bama, Iowa, Oklahoma St, and Utah are the only P5 schools I can think of who have coaches with more than 10 years.

But most programs have coaches with less than 4 years.

frick Saban

The point is people were freaking out about something a year before we won a national championship with the greatest coach in college football history.

You think that would make people around here pause for a moment before saying the sky is falling

anyone bashing denbrock has not watched his film and concepts at cincy. we simply cannot execute.nuss shoulda been put in also spurrier style for a series or two. i get daniels feet extended drives but he is way too slow to process reads and does not keep looking downfield just tucks and runs before he has even crossed LOS. we warned people about these traits. look some of these plays are designed for a 1 or 2 read look. some deep stuff, zone read and some RPO's but if he cannot go through progressions faster in the intermediate we are in a bind.

O left us a shitshow and this looks to be a long rebuild. way worse than 2000.
