And this is what's so disappointing about it. Baseball isn't an easy sport to play, but it should be easy to coach. It's just fundamentals and repetition. Yet, they won't take the time to hammer base running technique into their players.

I know the Cannizaro bridge is burned, and it's frankly his own fault, but when he was here, our fast guys ran the bases like fast guys should. Stevenson, Laird, Fraley, etc.

We need someone like him who is dedicated to teaching all facets of the game, to help Mainieri. Mainieri does whatever he does to motivate guys, but he sure doesn't seem to impart any wisdom to baserunners.
