This is my biggest problem with this whole mess. We not only have judges deciding rules/eligibility, we could now have them effectively forcing schools to roster certain players. That’s insane to me.
These specific players have signed with the school. This order basically prevents LSU from going back on the terms agreed upon in the contract (scholarship) between them and Wright/Harris at this time. They are required to give the players an opportunity to make the roster, basically.
It doesn't prevent LSU from removing them from the roster if they violate team rules, for example.

I would take option A. Contempt of Court in a Louisiana State Court against LSU.
Not Option B. SEC doing whatever they want to do to LSU.

SEC doesn’t even know NCAAs rules. We saw this first-hand this evening. LSU is not pulling anyone from the NFL. It’s only the kids that got caught with shifting NCAA eligibility rules and dates. None have played in the NFL.

The S(R)EC had best rethink this whole lawsuit stunt. Discovery is liable to be a real motherfricker for them. They could find themselves in a massive quagmire of their own making.

Given the ruling this evening, LSU should sue the SEC asking for (1) a declaratory judgment regarding the SEC’s new rule by imposing an exception for the athletes subject to the injunction issued tonight and (2) its own injunctive relief to prevent the SEC from retaliating against it for following a valid court order. They should also answer the SEC’s dumb suit by asking the court to dismiss it for lack of jurisdiction and for failure to state a valid claim.

And what’s that? Our AG said bc LSU is an arm of the state we have sovereign immunity and they can’t try this in federal court in bama.

The players were given eligibility. They have signed with LSU. The judge enjoined LSU as a "defendant" in the suit so that they cannot prevent these guys from making the roster based off of the NCAA's anti 5 in 5 position.
If LSU comes back and says "we actually can't roster you because we think you're ineligible, disagreeing with the court's order" LSU can be punished by the court.

Have these two young men been in school all semester? Hard to imagine making them start classes at this late time in the semester and make up all that missed class work.

I don't think so. You're a smart guy. I spoke with an attorney friend of mine tonight. To repeat what one of the fellas above said earlier, what the judge did for LSU is add another layer of protection should the SEC decide to move forward with sanctioning LSU. Remember what the Louisiana AG said today. LSU is still part of the State of Louisiana and the State itself will defend LSU if need be. What today's ruling did was give the State another avenue to protect/defend LSU.

That is what LSU wanted. Now, they can tell the SEC, "We have to abide by the court's ruling".

Typically, when a Federal Law Suit (Petition) is filed, the Defendants (LSU, BOS, Kiffin, etal.) have 21 days in which to file an Answer to said Petition from the date of being served with said Petition.
