Wow listening to their NBA preview and Ryen just crushed Zion, Gayle, Dumars and Mosley.

Summary:

- Zion is still good but doesn't have burst. Do not buy anything he's been saying, they're sick of his talk. Should have traded him three years ago.

Team has some talent but Zion doesn't fit. Should go back to point Zion

- Gayle doesn't pay attention too busy blasting Saints.

- Mosley they mentioned with the Pels and Orlando and talked about how bad offensively he is

- pretty much think Dumars has no clue. They keep acting as if Zion is something worth build around but don't do anything that makes sense like drafting Queen who can't play with him

Thr interesting thing is that they got visibly annoyed talking about the Pels because they're so inexplicably run. They said they could be a play in team but the front office sucks

All of it is true, unfortunately. We all melted when they just picked Dumars with no search whatsoever, for good reason.

So he admitted the team has talent and then used a bunch of previous seasons/ issues to drive his pre conceived opinion? How original.

Z was already on the roster and his trade value was low. Even if you want Queen or to move on from Z its not the time. It does not correlate to building around Zion.

I doubt he mentioned Z's low value or why he hasn't been moved because that would have to include honest journalism.

There isn't one shred of evidence or chain of events last year that pinpoints to building around Zion other than him simply still being on the roster.

Did he mention any positive development regarding the young Magic players? Probably not because he isn't trying to be impartial and its a hit piece. I'm not saying everything he said is untrue or incorrect but its definitely more of an attack.

These journalists just spew negativity and refuse to acknowledge anything that would weaken their pretty conceived rant.

Well said! While I agree with some of the criticisms, it is far too accurate to say that Z’s value was too low to move him than to say the Pels are still trying to build around him. As you note, he simply remains on the team.

The shitty thing is some of them have a point but you can't even take them serious because its pure hate. He can say everything already said and add in:

"But maybe Dumars did get stuck with Z and there's a plan now that the roster is changing"

"but the Pels do have some bright spots and made good moves with Fears/ Bey".

"Mosley struggled with this but helped the Magic with ___ and can bring that to Nola".

And that would make it a great overall synopsis.

Just dishonest, targeted, lazy arse journalism.

Zion looks fine to me in preseason? Don't know how they'll fare but this is the deepest roster since that 49 win run.

They did like some of the players like Bey and Fears I think they mentioned but think they make more sense without Zion.

Wasn't a hit piece imo

The front office is a laughing stock. It was a draft where they pick teams they're excited to see. Somehow they messed up at lne point and they made a joke about trading the pick back with no protections like the pelicans,

That's just a disgrace that the team is such a afterthought and embarrassment.

They didn't hate on any other teams other than Phoenix. Proased Charlotte and Memphis for moving on from ball and morant.

Honestly, they seem to really have zero respect for Gayle and Dumars.

Can't blame them

They also trashed the shite out of Ingram for what it's worth and said he's the worst guys in the league regular season to post season and that him being outbid probably a plus for the clippers

How is the roster changing?

This is essentially the same shite arse core they had when Dumars got it other than the draft picks.

Yeah I'm sure they also acknowledged that the trade doesnt look that bad right now.

Because everyone is obsessed with Z. Z could be out for the year, Fears/ Trey are all stars, we make the playoffs and we are still a "poverty franchise because Z is on the roster". shite makes no sense.

Even if we did have success with Z out for the year they'd just talk about how many things we fricked up by still having him here and not give credit to the other 14 players doing well.

Obviously Gayle deserves shade between both franchises not doing well but Dumars drafted a possible superstar. That in itself is the biggest GM hit on a draft pick since Drafting CP3. Z/ AD don't count.

They are quick to shite on the entire history of the franchise but don't dare to acknowledge how well Dumars has done so far in certain aspects compared to every other GM.

How often has a previous GM brought in a 24 y/o with a high ceiling like Mathurin instead of a washed vet looking for a bag or a mid player?

Adding Fears/ Bey/ Mathurin as assets in a 1 year period is more than just about anything through the Pels history in a 1 year period. And that's excluding Queen.

Its both a rebuilding and competitive year but we already acknowledged you are too dumb to process this while in the other thread. Find a new shtick.

This has been a problem for 5 years.

I don't recall us drafting his replacement 5 years ago or 4 or 3 or 2. It makes sense to draft his replacement and simultaneously not get rid of him when his value is at the lowest value ever.

If the option is to move on from Z for pennies or have another 20ppg scorer on the roster, well... Not really rocket science.

Its a question of Z or no Z and that's it.

It is not a question of Z or Victor Wembanyama/ SGA/ Devin Booker. That's what y'all make it seem like we are missing out on by letting Z walk for pennies.

I'm sure this is another highly avoided POV from National Media while they push for us to move on for nothing.
