The depth is there, they just don't have confidence. Pretty sure we had no pitching depth the '23 year either. But we had some guys turn the page and light it up.

I’m far from an optimist about this team that has flaws in every phase of the game, but the SEC is such a week to week league that it’s weakminded to believe LSU doesn’t have a shot (even against some of the better SEC teams) to win a home series. We won’t be favored to win final home series against UF but it certainly could happen.

For example, the same very flawed team LSU just won a road series against in Knoxville went on the road the following weekend and swept a Miss State team, who just finished back to back sweeps against Vandy and Ole Miss, teams LSU only won 2 of 6 against. Another example is after Florida got swept by Alabama then swept Arkansas, their two opponents just played a series against each other this past weekend, and Arkansas defied the transitive property by sweeping Alabama on the road. Makes little sense.

We can still beat good teams. I just doubt we can do it at the clip we need to in order to get to the 14-15 SEC win mark we need to overcome the atrocious RPI.

How did you feel when they lost two of three to High Point and got swept by Alabama?

The only one of those scenarios that's greater than 50% is to probably win one at MSU.

Any of those is seems possible to me.

Of course, it's possible. It's highly unlikely (5-10% range IMO).

holy shiitte batman - putting aside that you need to get a life (or a job), just admit that this team is not good, does not belong in the post season, and may very well up with a losing record -

Learn to read, buddy.

I simply posted Warren Nolan's projection, and you had a hissy fit.

ETA: and for LSU to end up with a losing record, they would have to lose 13 of their last 19 games

I just posted the projections, and some people came unglued

I guess folks are invested in this being a bad team. I appreciate the more rational fans.

Straight retard if you think LSU would be “lucky” if they won 2/3 against USC at home

Well, if "someone" came here before the season and said we'd be 6-9 at the turn, they would have also been called a "retard", along with ban bets etc...

Your opinion means no more than any others.

It'll play itself out. Life goes on. It's just baseball.

Jay really needs to go all in on sweeping SC that seems like the most realistic option

We haven't been going all in for the previous 5 series?

I think we've found our problem.

Can't say if this is accurate or it but am certain that WW is staying at NC State

12-18 or 11-19 on the year in SEC play.
This. I originally thought 11-19 after that disaster against Sac State then I started to think hmm maybe not but after this past weekend, I dont know anymore. aTm is pretty good. LSU is gonna stay home unless something changes. They even have to prove they can go 4-0 for weekday games left. Lsu has played like they rather be doing something else during the week.

Giving LSU a 34-22 (14-16) record and an RPI of 43

I think this would have us as one of the last one or two teams in the field.

There are 35 at-large bids. An RPI in the 40s has a decent chance of getting you in. As a defending champ, they probably get in with that RPI alone because the committee has always had some leeway. Hosting is a pipe dream unless something almost magically changes.

All of this ^

At 14-16 we are in with our RPI in the 40s. There is no way I see them leaving us out. I don’t think we host but I think we end crashing someone else’s regional.

I don’t think a 14 win team has ever been left out in the new format. Could be wrong on that though. So yes safe to say it’s a good bet we’d be in.

And you think that losing 13 out of the last 19 games is out of the question? Not by a long shot.

Unlikely enough, I would ban-bet you.
