Fisher’s unit finished with two drives of longer than 25 yards, converted two third downs and averaged 2.8 yards a play. The Tigers picked off A&M quarterback Kellen Mond three times. He finished 10-for-30. At one point in the first half, the yardage separation between the two teams was a jaw dropping 286–18. The Tigers beat the Aggies by 43 points. Georgia and Clemson beat A&M by a combined 20 points.

Let's see if this stat is mentioned during the Playoff Committee on Tuesday.

Mullens not only referred to OSU as a “complete team” but he underscored what’s been the one soft spot—maybe the only soft spot—about this football team: its defense. “It is the defensive piece,” Mullens said. “This week, the committee felt Ohio State is a little better on the defensive side.”

This is exactly why we got the BCS back in the day. Committees, pollsters, writers, whatever always frick it up with feels.

Great article. Thanks for sharing

They will focus on what OSU did and try to ignore what LSU did.

And exactly why it went away. It took away their power by removing their feels.

Agree completely. CFB gives way too much power and latitude to media / committees to decide who they “feel” is the best team. This will not change as the media can drive the narrative as to why it shouldn’t change. Sort of a narcissistic job security for them that makes them “feel” important.
They do the same thing in all sports with their weekly “power rankings” but those sports don’t care about or use those rankings for anything. Only CFB is dumb enough to rely on what these folks “feel”
Wish it was simply conference champions that got in but don’t see it changing any time soon.

No it didn't. I don't understand why people want to forget that the BCS formula was made up of 2/3 human opinion polls.

There in Atlanta, the Tigers will attempt to again impress the committee and try to be… complete. As for the third different definition of that word, well, it is below...
LSU 50, Texas A&M 7.

This is why I’ve said all along they should have kept the BCS “formula”, but swapped Coaches poll for AP poll, and expanded the field to at least 8. I’d be ok with 16 with the power 5 conference champs getting a bye or home field advantage. That would make the Conf champ “worth something”

That was a wholly different defensive unit out there annihilating Kellen Mond and the vaunted Aggie attack from the one being torched by Vandy and Ole Miss for 38 and 37 points respectively

That’s why it was so disgusting to listen to ESPN last night comparing LSU and Ohio State. They barely mentioned LSU winning at Alabama, breaking their long home winning streak, beating them in their place, never trailing or having the game really in doubt. They harped on and on about Ohio State winning at Michigan like it was a bigger feat. Just ridiculous.
