Looks like he's ineligible for reelection this year due to age so maybe he'll go out with a bang for us since he doesn't have to worry about that

This could go both ways.
If we're being honest with ourselves, Luis probably shouldn't be made eligible. So maybe since the judge is not worried about re-election, he'll just do what he thinks is right and not what he knows people want.

I think it's actually a pretty unique case and both sides have their merits. He never was able to participate in g League because of injury, BUT he did play in preseason games BUT preseason isn't considered for service towards NBA career.... Kinda a pickle.
BUT he did sign a contact for pro ball, so NCAA had that going for them.

He signed a pro contract and was paid by an NBA team (or maybe 2?).
Look, I want him to play at LSU, it immediately makes us 10x better. But if I'm being honest with myself, I would say he shouldn't be eligible if another team was trying this.
ETA:
I won't feel guilty about it if he is eligible though, considering the bullshite college athletics landscape these days. Just trying to think impartially.

So did most of the euro players on rosters throughout college. Why are euro guys eligible, for most part, but not America guys signed to g league. That’s what the ncaa needs to clarify better.
Edit: Most college players are now paid by the school thru revenue share as well so essentially pros as well. The whole NCAA model needs a lot of work for eligibility among players.

No but I don't like being at a disadvantage to other teams. There's supposedly a suit being put forth by former NCAA football players that signed pro contracts and now want to go back.
This whole thing is only going to get more messy.

not that I agree with it, but from what I can see there really aren't very many rules they can enforce anymore when it comes to eligibility. So go ahead and grant us this ruling and free up our All-American
