He was one of a kind. Master motivator extraordinaire. Very positive man who had much conviction, some of it
misguided . But who of us doesn’t . RIP Daddy Dale

I wonder if people knew he was about to pass and went ahead and gave him that award while he was still with us

Y’all know he coached Shaq?

Prayers to his family but that man was insufferable on the radio.

With that, today’s a sad day for LSU.

I can only imagine his career legacy if Randy Livingston doesn’t get hurt and Lester earl doesn’t get manipulated by the ncaa to turn on him

Surprised it's not on the TD front page.

Dale, you were a legend!

Brown had his shortcomings as a coach and at the end of his career, but for all of those who say "LSU isn't a basketball school and never will be" they didn't experience the 80's. The Assembly Center was rocking and Dale was the ultimate showman. He made LSU basketball and it, sadly, has never reached those peaks again.

The irony is that all of the stuff some bitch about with Wade, fighting with the NCAA, doing whatever he can to sign great players, injecting enthusiasm into the crowd was what Dale did 40-50 years ago. Hell, we have wailing from all parts of the country about Wade signing European pros when Dale tried to get Arvydas Sabonis to LSU in 1987

He was coach all through my childhood, college, and law school. I always liked him even if some folks did not think he was an elite coach. He was a great human being, a motivator, and a solid coach.

8 days from 91 years old. Had a good run.

It's more years than most people get, and if there's ill health, it can even be a relief of suffering. But from a family's perspective, it's never enough. I lost my dad at 90 and I wish he was still here.

He was the coach when I was a Freshman at LSU; that happened to be his first of two Final Four teams.

He put LSU back on the map in Men's basketball.

RIP Coach Brown.

RIP to an absolute legend.

Arguably one of the best coaches in the history of the university regardless of the sport.

My favorite coach in any sport at any level. Dale Brown is the reason I love LSU since childhood.

I was at LSU when Coach Skip Bertman and Coach Dale Brown were the heart and soul of our athletic department. They were two of the greatest leaders and ambassadors LSU has ever known, and we will forever be grateful for their extraordinary contributions, their leadership, and the generations of young men they mentored while building Hall of Fame programs.

God bless the Brown family and all those fortunate enough to have known Coach Brown personally. He was a great man, a remarkable leader, and someone whose legacy will forever be part of LSU.

And man, did he love LSU. We love you, Coach Brown.

Forever LSU. Geaux Tigers!
