Because you are missing context. What question was he answering? He was not asked who the starting qb is or will be. Bobby asked him about the selection process, how the eye in the sky doesn't lie, and that maybe mid August would be the time to decide.

O is saying the locker room knows who the best player is. The competition will continue and it will work it's way out.

Yeah, Alabama won the NC last year because of Mac Jones season total of 14 yards rushing.

Don't accuse posters for embellishing a situations, then write something like that.

If they were fighting for a playoff spot why wasn't Pitts playing.
Their defense was ranked one spot above LSU

Sometimes I'm not sure if any of you watch college football at all. Brennan could have probably run backwards and still out run Mac Jones. Yet you make the ignorant arse statement that NO TEAM gets into the playoffs without a mobile QB, when literally the defending NC team had a non mobile QB.

You need to check Max’s stats and his mobility absolutely makes this a discussion

I love Myles but if he didn’t come out pissing his pants we don’t lose to state.

I still think it’s Myles but I’ll support whoever plays

Florida defense was actually one of the worse last year! Florida defense gave up an avg of 450 yards a game.

What in the absolute frick. In NO scenario where a defense gives up 44 points and 600 yards, while the offense scores 34 can you put the blame on a single individual on the offensive side for losing the game.

Did Brennan look absolutely amazing in that game? No. It was his first college start as well, and he looked better as the weeks progressed.

I dont care which one starts, just as long as they perform, but to sit here and say that it was all on the QB in the MSU game is just a flat out trash take, and proves your level of stupidity.

No, he said he already knows who it is because it is very obvious. He said everyone in the locker room also already knows who it will be too, because again, it's very obvious.

No he didn't Pretty clear in context he was saying they will know by the end of the the summer and when it is obvious they will name a starter. Also implied that would be the week before the UCLA game.

From https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/lsu-football/ed-orgeron-myles-brennan-max-johnson-qb-competition/

quote:

“We in the locker room know who the best player is, there ain’t no question, everybody knows. It’s going to work itself out and I’m going to let them play,” Orgeron said on the show. “The competition is going to be fierce every day. I told them, everything that you do (will be studied and evaluated) and you know, both those guys along with Garrett [Nussmeier], having some great summers.

“I think it’s going to work itself out. I think it’s going to be obvious. And obviously, you know, game week going into UCLA, we are going to name our starter; but if we could do it before, we can. It’s all going to be a feel thing.”

O isn't exactly a wordsmith. In my opinion, the second part of the statement clarifies what he means.

Reading comprehension is not one of the rants strongest traits! It really doesn't matter who starts, because about half on this board will say it should have been "the other guy."

Was bored this morning and watched the 2020 LSU vs Missouri game again. Brennan was running for his life but still looked great. Great passing the ball deep and medium routes. Did this despite having a major stomach muscle injury most of the game. We were a great play by the Missouri CB away from winning that game.

If Myles comes back as good as he was in that game it would not surprise me if he starts. Either way we are set at QB as I have stated before here.

Thats like saying "thanks Myles now go transfer".

Myles Brennan checks a lot of boxes and has a wonderful arm talent and no Tiger fan disputes this. Myles also lacks mobility to be a dual threat, he can make his way around the pocket but lack's a pocket awareness, the deer in the head lights look he started the season with was reminiscent of QB's LSU has had in the recent past.

If LSU is to have a successful season both QB's need improvement, Brennan will have to see the field better and step into the pocket and execute, Max will have to improve his arm strength and accuracy.

My personal take is Max based on a better win loss record along with seeing Brennan's lack of composure and his actions on the sidelines.

If this were flag football Brennan all the way

It's too late to transfer. He may as well remain at LSU for this season, and then transfer early next season. I mean, if he wants to impress the scouts and have a chance for the NFL, then it's better to wait until early next year so he can have a full off season to learn the new offense and to gel with the receivers.
I didn’t realize he had another year of eligibility. But still, we’re talking about wasting an entire year. Usually the coaches will let a guy know early enough so he doesn’t have to do that. That would be surprising if they didn’t.

If they didn’t tell Myles weeks ago, he would have asked what the plan was before it’s too late. He’s thinking about his future, I promise you. Just feels like they told him positive news weeks ago.
