People who want to blame the AD for this is just flat out ignorant. It’s the head coaches job to prepare his team and the players responsibility to go out there and execute well enough to win those games. Not the ADs job. I know you don’t like Ausberry but to blame him for a job that Ed O and Brian Kelly failed at accomplishing is just stupid.

How do you search for an AD? What pops out on a resume that says "Yes, this is our guy!" Championships tied to their hire? Donor money going from A to B? Facilities upgrades? What is it? I just feel like it's a weird odd melt to be this butt hurt over an AD hire. Guy that played football at LSU and has been in the athletic department for 24 years. If any slow ones don't understand that, that means he's been here throughout all 3 of our latest national football championships and 3 of baseballs. What's everyone mad about?

Administration is embarrassed by the actions over the last few weeks. The media has labeled LSU a boondoggle. Damage control. Not saying BK needed gone he did. Just the way it was handled.

Well it makes me feel relieved that the consensus on here is against Verge.The track record for rantards choices over the years,Riley,Napier,Aranda, etc aren’t exactly knocking it out of the park.This is a very good sign that Verge might be successful.

Verge is one of those dudes that must have some pretty embarrassing pictures of someone really high up. He should have been fired several times from his old positions and somehow he always gets promoted.

Most of those years we were facing off against a team that had already dined on a cupcake that allowed them to make adjustments before they met us. And these neutral site games diminished the value of our home schedule.

He's demonstrated horrible decision making and leadership in the past during the Drake Davis incident. He's never negotiated a coaching hire in his life. LSU football is supposed to be a Top 15 job. You don't turn the entire athletic department over to someone who has never been an AD at a major university. This has disaster written all over it. You can forget about any big names wanting to come to work for Verge. What happens when they try to sweep the next "Drake Davis incident" under the rug and the HC doesn't even find out about it until it's too late?

Becoming more and more apparent this was a Palace Coup from the Executive Branch of State Government . Lawsuits will be flying left and right around this one. Firing Kelly was necessary, the scalping of the AD was purely an act of retribution, totally unnecessary, and will cause more harm in the long run

Not that it matters but I am fine with Verge if a serious search for an AD was made by the President or whoever is in charge of hiring the AD. It’s really not fair to Verge either if no serious search was made on behalf of LSU.
