How many times has Miles beat Saban and won the NC? How many times has Coach O beat Saban and won the NC? Let's give it next season and see what happens. Hopefully we go 15-0 and Coach O is on all the late night shows.

"Don't focus on the end result... not even the scoreboard of the game you are in... focus on winning every play for the entire 60 minutes." Not saying that's what he SHOULD say, but that's in line with Saban's philosophy, which has proven to be a winning one. Who knows, he might say the other stuff as well.

I can easily see how Coach O can be misquoted.

Did Clapp understand him correctly? I know that is a challenge from time to time.

We needed this culture change.

This is the most accurate thing I have read on tRant this week. Its so true. We need a real culture shift that lends to a championship attitude/swagger. Playoffs or bust.

With Miles, it seemed to be an understood thing, but I think its time for someone like Coach O to stand up and say it, remind these guys what LSU stands for and what our goals are and hold them accountable.

Couldn't agree more, we need an attitude adjustment.

Whether it will happen, whether it is truly a realistic goal, this is what every coach of a tier 1 team should be telling his team. If you coach tentative, your team will take on that personality and play that way. See- Miles, Les.

This kind of attitude is more likely to foster an atmosphere of confidence and playing with an edge. That certainly isn't all it takes to win, but it certainly doesn't hurt, either.

This reminds me of Alvin Gentry telling Anthony Davis that the Pelicans "will be here next year" as Gentry gets showered with champagne celebrating Golden State's 2015 championship.

I love O's confidence. More than I can say for him than the garbled coach speak we used to hear.

O - We're going to make the playoff next year

Les - we would certainly enjoy the ability to compete with a quality opponent for a big prize of great magnitude

Nothing wrong with that. I'd rather have a coach raise the level of expectations than one that is scared to set the bar high.
