Do you think the FBI simply intends to play footsies with the implicated parties? Do you think the FBI is trying to make friends with everyone? Of course not. You people are so naive and delusional that you think the FBI will just say "Let's withhold any and all damning evidence from anyone who may be able to use it in the pursuit of justice."

Lol

You think they give a frick about Wade allegedly violating NCAA rules? They're trying to investigate a huge wire fraud/tax evasion scheme. They're not going to jeopardize that all in the name of the NCAA policing its member institutions.

Different meetings have been ongoing all day. Some with Wade and BOS and LSU. Some with BOS and boosters. Let’s say that King and Wade are not friends. BOS wants Alleva out. BOS are torn on Wade but recent conversations with FBI have several aiming to keep him now. All the NBA announcements happened for a reason. Leverage. They all come back with Wade or the program sinks.

Jeez, this does not sound encouraging.

Alleva needs to be gone NOW. Don’t drag the nightmare of having him associated with our university out any longer

I wouldn't doubt it. Fieldon probably feels threatened by Wade.

I'm saying that if the NCAA decides to investigate, they'll surely ask the FBI for any evidence they've uncovered, to which the FBI with have no reason to deny access to the wiretaps.

You do understand that depending on the antitrust case against the NCAA, which the NCAA is appealing, the NCAA may have limited ability to pursue this stuff?

Wade was caught on wiretap saying he made a "strong arse offer" to a player.

This is absolutely false. Even if you take Yahoo as gospel on the tapes, he never said HE made a strong arse offer. You can choose to glean that from it, but he absolutely did not say it.

Because, you know, the FBI is just going to turnover evidence in a case to the NCAA at its request

Right lsu2006.
The Supreme Court judge in the case has already come out and said NCAA rules violations have nothing to do with the FBI investigation. They want to continue unimpeded.
Earlier in the investigation, the FBI told the NCAA to basically get out of their way.

It’s 2 completely different matters.

The FBI will possibly give some info from their investigation when it’s gone through the courts, don’t know if the NCAA has any “right” to them?

If they do, they’d better hand over all they have on ALL schools involved, and publicize that fact, so the NCAA doesn’t hide or bury stuff on the “blue bloods”.

I'm not a prosecutor or criminal defense attorney, but the tapes, at least the transcript of them, is public. Much, or all, of the testimony in a case that's tried in a public countroom, is public. Unless the evidence is under seal by the court, I'd think it will be available.

How is it public if there hasn't been a trial or hearing in which it was admitted into evidence? The defense attorney leaking snippets of the transcript to publicly muddy the waters doesn't mean its actually public record. If the tape or the full transcript was public we'd have heard or read the whole thing by now. The prosecution has already moved to suppress Wade's testimony as irrelevant. If that motion is granted, how would the tape get in?

Look, I said before I am no conspiracy theorist, but because of the timing of the yahoo article, I thought it was all bullshite.... With that said, this is the quote from the article.

quote:

“Dude,” Wade continued to Dawkins, referring to the third party involved in the recruitment, “I went to him with a [expletive] strong-arse offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong.

Either way, my point is. Saying something and doing something are two different things.

Jesus H Christ

You have no room to call anyone delusional. The NCAA is not a legal entity, and it's rules are not US law.

The FBI obtained an order from a judge allowing wiretapping of Christian Dawkins, to obtain proof of federal crimes that they had to have reasonable suspicion he was committing.
You don't get to go exploring everything else on those tapes to see who was cheating the NCAA, having affairs, or using someone else's Sam's Club membership, Herr Himmler.
America doesn't work that way.

The Pirate Kuck is just giddy at the thought of Wade going down. He's hated him from day 1. Lucky for him, some of his dumbest threads calling Wade out earlier in the season were whacked.
