If I'm a GM I'm looking lonngggg and hard at a player that hasn't stepped on a field in a year.

Seeing as 2/3rds of the player pool will be in the same boat, I’d say if you were a GM you’d struggle mightily

Y’all are melting but Burrow would’ve made this exact same decision if somehow he had another year of eligibility at LSU and his stock was that high going into the season

So Trevor Lawrence is about to do the same?? Not a chance

He thinks BLM means black lives matter, no idea it is socialism organization. He needs an education about politics which college no longer gives.

Phenomenal player and Tiger, but this late? Sad news to hear.
Huge bummer for the team and fans but I get it.
He doesn’t have much else to gain, but a lot to lose.

From Aug. 5
Star LSU WR Ja'Marr Chase plans to play 2020 season

quote:

However, Ja’Marr is highly motivated to play the season with LSU and hasn’t even really allowed his family to bring up the topic of skipping his junior year. “He’s going to play the season out,” Jimmy Chase said. “He’s locked in with his team, and as long as everybody is healthy, he’s said he wants to play with his team and his teammates.
"He just loves the game, and he loves LSU. He wants to finish his career out in a positive manner.”

“ When I bring it up, he's like, 'Dad, I don't even want to talk about it,'" Jimmy Chase said. "I have to respect his decision on it. He's the one that's playing"

Asked if he thinks anything could change Ja'Marr's mind, Jimmy said: "Not really, not really. If I can't have the conversation with him, Ja'Marr is one of those people if he has his mind made up, he's stuck with it. You know?"

“ Everybody is looking at the position Ja'Marr is in with being a top pick," Jimmy Chase said. "That's fine and dandy, but they don't see the competitive juices that are in him."

It is interesting and a little messed up that “agents” or somebody can reach out, influence and convince players to do this. If the guy wants to play, leave him alone.

This will likely become a new thing for select juniors that already have an incredibly high draft stock from sophomore seasons and already cemented a first round draft pick.
He can train, take care of his body, avoid wear and tear, etc.

I guess this is as good of a thread as any to appreciate Jacoby Stevens’ leadership

Certainly possible. Not everyone makes the same decision. That’s what’s great about making choices

Best of luck to the young man. LSU will be fine without him. I think it’s unfair to speculate on his reasoning. Let him speak for himself.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. He is and will always be a legend in BR. Your comments are driven by emotions.

Damn Jamarr. Definitely hate to see that.

Best of luck to you in the league. I know you will ball out there. It has been a joy to watch you.

But damn, I don't think I can respect this decision. Especially considering doing this so close to the season beginning.
