I respect the decision but not the timing. Quitting on your team during fall camp is never a good look. This should have been done a month ago.

His agent fed him scary scenarios. Sit for 19 months and you’ll be fine....ask Chad Jones

Sorry if already mentioned, but let’s take a deep breath and look at this rationally.
This is the story we are being given but it’s likely not the actual story.
It’s more likely that the extra attention we’ve been getting from media and ncaa has our compliance team monitoring things very closely. I would suggest that he had impermissible contact with agents due to his high value and this is the repercussion from that contact.
Possibly.... wink wink.

These days coaches are helpless in this matter.

I guess this is as good of a thread as any to appreciate Jacoby Stevens’ leadership

I'd ring hollow since our fans were shite talking him 48 hrs ago for leading a non-violent protest.

2/3rds? Not even close.

It’s pretty close. Player pool goes much deeper than P5 conferences. And 2 of those conferences are out.

Not mad. Never thought he was going to play once the covid mess started. Just wish he would have made this decision before camp started because now you’re just bailing on your team.

Jets was awesome, but no sane person would take him over Jamar.

He left early too, you know that right? Was he also “quitting on his team”?

Why do you guys keep saying “his agent” up until today he definitely should not have had an agent

I think it's natural as a fan to feel disappointed but in time I think we all will realize it was a smart decision given the opportunity he was given.

I don't disagree these can definitely be good decisions for certain players but its a dangerous precedent for the sport and sucks for fans. If this becomes a trend like the bowl game opting out where highly touted sophomores skip their junior year to go pro it isn't good long term.

Why isn’t Sunshine opting out at Clemson? His stock can’t be improved either.

Why not make this decision months ago?

You can kind of read between the lines when watching him during games. He gives off selfish vibes and “his way or no way” attitude. I think he’s a great player but Jamar isn’t worried about the team or what they had planned for him.

Again, what a pussy he is. Goodness. It's all about money, and I doubt he is that good. What a phony.

By this logic, what's to stop Stingley sitting out this year and next since he's a lock to be a first rounder? Or any NFL type talent for that matter? This is getting a bit ridiculous.

A bunch of people are being emotional about this, but it’s hard for me to do the same. Especially with being so skeptical that a full season was actually going to happen. It is what it is. Good luck to chase

The rumors about Ryan Clark effecting his decision are now true. It's why all the threads were being whacked.

I don’t think Clark had anything to do it with it. He has nothing to gain financially by playing. Agents breathing down his neck. One after the other upping their advance money to sign him. That’s what happened.

Waddle, Surtain, Leatherwood, Moses, Smith are all first round picks.

And none seem to be opting out.
