I think it's natural as a fan to feel disappointed but in time I think we all will realize it was a smart decision given the opportunity he was given.

He’s been taking reps from other potential WRs in valuable practice time
I just wish he had better perspective over the summer rather than his timing now

I agree, I see opting out as a sign of weakness and entitlement.
Although he had a hell of a time at LSU, he'll lose Tiger fan respect.
Hate this!

Very disappointed in Ja’Marr as a Tiger fan. Especially being he was given #7 and waited until now to opt out.

I can’t fault him with all that $$ on the line but why do it now so close to the season when the word has been he’s 100% committed to playing his last year with his brothers trying to defend the natty? He could have been an all time great had he come back but now he’s just a guy who had one great season. I’ll always appreciate what he did for us and wish him the best but this could have been handled better. Now we have to scramble to replace our top WR but the fact is he’s irreplaceable and our offense just took a knockout blow. His ability to our muscle corners with his crazy strong upper body and hands is a once in a generation type talent. This really fricking sucks.

I heard he got passed up by palmer and mcmath anyway

Is it OK to talk about this now? Yesterday, all the threads about Chase were deleted and most of y'all wanted people banned for mentioning it.

People are allowed to change their minds it’s life. He’s a young man who’s got a massive future ahead of him.

Sad to see him go, and wish him the best.

What poor timing and poor teamsmanship on his part.
He had a chance to be a leader he chose to be something else.

But I just read on the rant that this is untrue. CBS is clearly misinformed and should spend more time reading the rant.

Bad advice IMO.
If I'm a GM I'm looking lonngggg and hard at a player that hasn't stepped on a field in a year.

Y’all are crazy if you don’t think agents are offering to bank roll an extravagant life leading up to the draft. Every projected first round pick has had to make this decision.

Very smart. I'd rather be a millionaire than please some of the rednecks on here.
