O hired him because he was the hot name our fan base wanted. His style clashed with the spread offense O wanted to run so he got rid of him.

Then O got this guy Joe Brady most people didn’t know how it would turn out but it fit what O wanted to do.

Have to trust O on this hire that he has a guy that will continue to run the explosive spread he wants.

We just had the greatest season in college football history. O deserves the benefit of a doubt. Anyone melting about the hire is likely a moron.

O hired him because he was forced to when Kiffin fell through. If you saw Aleva's interview recently he said Kiffin was in on the deal as long as he did not get a HC gig which he did.

He wasn’t forced to do it. He wanted to please the fan base after Kiffin fell through. He wanted to keep Ensminger as OC but knew the fan base would have a shite fit.

I just like how everyone is forgetting Jerry Sullivan.

Sullivan was the PGC. Same as Brady. Steve was the OC for both of them, but the offenses looked completely different. It can be a very influential position. I'm just hoping it goes more like Brady than Sullivan.

It’ll always amaze me that dudes that have never played football think they know better than a national championship winning HC

Who said that?

Does that mean that no one can have an opinion on this board because none of them have been coaches? Why is there even a board if that's the case?

I've never been the CEO of Netflix, but I knew Qwikster was a stupid fricking idea.

Anywho, we'll find out soon enough if things work out or not.

Having an opinion is cool but don’t think you know better than the guy

If this was remotely true he should have been fired immediately

Its really kind of 6 of 1 half dozen of another. Being the CEO and hiring top coordinators, or in the case of DC keeping Aranda was a major selling point. So of course he had to make a splash OC hire

and lets not pretend that the O supporters at the time, the same ones saying this is great hire because O made it, didn't praise the Canada hire to the hilt. We were constantly told that Canada was the only Offensive coach that was Broyles Award finalist.

This is probably not that big of a deal, assuming Ensminger has the scheme down and keeps it in place.

I know you probably believe this bs but you really shouldn’t. O wanted an offense that would compete, challenge opposing d’s and score points. Most loved the MC hire until he turned out to be a dickhead.

He was fired because he's an alcoholic cancer.

And the one thing Louisiana, not surprisingly, doesn't like is a dick who cant handle his liquor.

There's a reason O didn't come back until he was sober.

It should mean that individuals who don't really know crap about football coaching and coaches ought to keep their whiny little opinions to themselves.

We need a constant fairy tale time thread so that you guys can tell all your tall tales about LSU sports. It’s amazing how much stuff is completely made up and pushed as fact on this board.

Seems like a bad hire.

Actually Ed O hired Matt Canada because Alleva told him to hire him. However, he didn't run the kind of offense Ed O wanted. Plus he was abusive to the players. Hence, that's why he wasn't a fit for Ed O. So Ed O did the right thing and got rid of him and LSU has the better for it.
