Chad Lavalais pushed the center's shite in so bad the center stepped on Eli's foot. Eli just didn't fall. What a bunch of bullshite LSU fans think Eli just fell over on his own.
What’s funny is the post directly in front of yours in an LSU fan describing the exact same thing as you.

Was there with a big group, including my father and my 2 1/2 year old son. We stayed in my father’s motor home at Lake Enid outside of Oxford. On gameday morning, my dad and I were up at the crack of dawn quietly cooking breakfast and making coffee. We woke my little son up and he raised up off the sofa sleeper and said these sleepy words that still make my heart swell....”Daddy, I want to go see Lavalais!” We had a great day. Memories!

Is that SEC West Co-Champ banner from that year still up in their stadium?
What have they won since to replace it with?

"Biggest game in Oxford's history". Exactly, it was the Reb's Super Bowl +++. My son called me after the game & told me "Dad, there are old men sitting on the curb crying". Told him that they were my generation's Reb fans, so walk up to them & give a loud "Archie Who? " for me. He said he got some very angry looks.

And just think- if Colonel Reb was crying after that game, they were only a couple of years away from the “Coach O era” in Oxfart! Fun times!

It's worth coloring between the lines to set up this disaster of a play.
Eli had just gotten the ball back and a touchdown drive in the closing minutes of the game would have won the Webels the SEC West and possibly earned Eli a Heisman Trophy.
Instead Eli ended up on his arse in front of the most excited crowd Ole Miss' shitty stadium had seen in a generation.
They even had a massive pep rally on the Square that Friday night before. A friend of mine had a brother who lived in a second-floor apartment right above the pep rally. All the Ole Miss fans left the apartment for the pep rally leaving me and another LSU student alone in the apartment. I had a CD (yes, this was 2003) of the band playing pre-game with me and we locked the apartment door, put his brother's big arse speakers in the window, and played pre-game on repeat for a glorious 20 minutes before the door finally got breached. It was a beautiful sight leaning out that window at the hundreds of birds getting shot at us along with everything else.
The crowd was furious.
Another story worth sharing from that weekend: so many LSU fans filled the Oxford city jail by game time that a "Geaux! / Tigers!" chant broke out from the opposite ends of the cells.
I was in Oxford from Thursday on and it was amazing watching LSU drag their nuts all over Ole Miss and Eli.

Remember that time they actually hung a banner of winning the west on 2003 and they didn’t even win it??
Such a fricking pathetic fan base.
Just a reminder that Kentucky, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt have NEVER made an appearance in an SEC Championship Game.

One of my all time favorite games I’ve been to.

Yet they have a banner in their stadium claiming the 2003 SEC West champs. Pathetic losers. Why not just claim the 2003 Natty. No such thing as being a little pregnant.

The ball in snapped and in about a micro second the entire Ole Miss offensive line was pushed 4 yards back
That 03 defense was nasty

I was there. Awesome atmosphere and game!

Hey show some respect. They won the west that year--the banner says so.

I went to that game with my family but tickets were hard to come by. I had to sit by myself in a sea of Ole Miss fans as a 14 year old. That was such an anti-climatic end to a very tense game
I remember early in the game after we made a key play, I stood up and clapped. An older Ole Miss fan asked me not to clap so loud... I made sure to clap extra loud right behind her anytime we made a play

The OP title should be:

It's the correct context of what happened, not the typical delusional fan's incorrect perspective.

We actually just had an interview with the punter that played in this game for LSU...funny you mentioned it! He brings up this exact play during the interview

Was there, was quite intimidating at first! Especially when Mauk tosses the pick -6 on first play! But was a battle until that trip and they still had a shot after and D took over. I mean , what a D
