Regardless of stats on paper this game will be close for the entire game.

I do not see either team blowing the other out tomorrow.
Ole Miss will be playing with a lot of emotion and the crowd will be as rowdy as a 65k crowd can be. I'm not particularly worried about it affecting our play calls but I do think it will help energize Ole Miss.
On paper Ole Miss has one of the worst defenses which does seem to bode well for our offense.
On paper LSU has one of the best defenses which again bodes well for our team, but I do think that Ole Miss has the tools to move the ball a good bit more than Clemson or La Tech.
I think this game will come down to if LSU can force a few turnovers and give our offense a short field.
I imagine that if LSU wins this game, The Ole Miss season will spiral. They have to go to Florida next week and while it isn't a Spurrier or Meyer Florida team, Ben Hill Griffin will be rocking next week.
If LSU loses we atleast get to return next week to the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium although we will be going against a very talented Texas AM team.
I think we win.... but just by the skin of our teeth.

I have to keep telling myself that a win is a win. I want to absolutely demolish them 77-7. But I don’t want a 24-21 victory to be disappointing.

That’s an odd assessment where your points don’t really add up to your conclusion.

I think OM and the refs end up pulling away in the 4th. The SEC needs this one badly.

It’s not going to be 60-0 but LSU wins easily. We won’t stop them from scoring however our D is legit, they are on their 3 rd rt guard and tech put up more of a fight than their d. I don’t think the game will ever be in question.

Its not an odd assessment. What I am saying is that no matter how bad Ole Miss defense has looked, tomorrow they play their best game.
No matter how good LSUs defense is, tomorrow Ole Miss Offense will play their best game.
At the end of the night, if LSU wins, Ole Miss will spiral similar to how LSU always had issues with teams like Arkansas the week after a tough bama loss.
On paper Bama was better than us from the years 2012 till 2018... many times significantly better, but more times than not it was our best played game of the year.

LSU could easily blowout Ole Miss especially if the defense forces a turnover early. I just cant see it the other way around though.

Ole Miss is going to be riding a crazy wave of emotion in this game. If they don't have a good start i could see them crashing and the game getting away from them quickly

absolutely
precedent is this will be a close game. i'd be tickled to get a 10 to 14 point win . hell right now i will take a les miles ugle arse win on the road against a top 10 ranked team.
i'd be ecstatic with a blowout but when is the last time we did that on the road against a top 10 team? in the sec?

How many of those teams had this coach and this roster?
I’ll never understand why people think a stat like that is reflective on whatever current team is playing.

I just have an odd feeling that LSU offense is going to be able to score at will against their defense. I could be totally wrong. But I think that it's similar to the Clemson game in that aspect.
This leaves Ole Miss with no choice but to score on almost every drive. If they start to get into situations where they are punting. They're going to see the game start slipping away.
Of course, I could be wrong, and Leavitt turns the ball over 4 times, and the game gets away from LSU and it's a bloodbath.

In my opinion, this is the most likely scenario. It is typically a close game, and I see no reason to think it won’t be this to time

Not if we can run the ball and not have any TO. If those 2 things happen LSU wins by 14+.

The OM D is about 40 places worse than Tech. We scored 45 on Tech with backups and 4 turnovers. If we have a horrible game on offense or Sam does not play, my math says we score 45+ in this game. I don't see OM close to 30, unless Blake does not have it dialed in or we are playing a lot of 3rd stringers because of injuries. I think 55 - 21 or something like that. I just don't think a high school stadium is going to generate that much energy for OM. It might raise their Def from #100 to # 85 and lower ours from #1 to #15 , but don't see it making that much difference. We would really have to lay down for that to happen. Our strong D and their no D is going to be the story.

Like their regular season game against Georgia last year. That defense didn’t stop Georgia a single time in a 43-35 shootout loss.

well i will defend us. we SHOULDA done it in 2019. we shoulda beat # 3 ranked bama by 21. but the D shite bed on 2 huge plays and ST shite bed on waddle return for a TD. but bottom line is we didn't get that rout like we should have.
the point is it is always hard to win on the road much less blowout a team.
now do we have blowouts of teams in our history playing on the road in the sec? sure. many off the top of my head.
but not top 10. that is a precedent for a reason.

if there is a time to SHATTER that old precedent it is now!
ole miss will be up big for this. we have to get through that huge wave of emotion they will have early on. run the ball and play D wins on the road and shuts the crowd up.

I have to be honest in that I am concerned that the officials interject themselves into the game. We all know how easily a pass interference call or phantom holding penalty can change the outcome. We need to jump on them early and not let up, so nothing the officials do can will alter the result.
