No pitcher is gonna risk injury in a season that’s done. Not when future $$$$ is on the line

No it doesn't......

After reading 10 pages of you posting on this thread, this entire board has realized you might be the dumbest poster on TD. I don't know how you even remember to breath or eat. I feel sorry for whoever has to work with you and may God have mercy on your soul.

As for Schmidt, when you turn down a like 1st round selection to play college baseball the expectations for great success in college is high. That's just the way it is. Two years in, he had not reached those high expectation levels. Some may argue he hasn't even come close...even there was some improvement from last season.
High expectations were warranted based on his high school performances.
Would he peak as a sophomore? No. There is a growth process that you have to follow. For most it takes time, but by the end of year two you’d expect at least above average.
Schmidt wasn’t even average; thus everybody’s disappointment.
Next year is a huge year. He needs to improve a lot to command big money. Let’s hope he can.

If he improved half as much next year as he did this year, he’ll be all sec
He did improve and was our most consistent pitcher. I think he still has a pretty long way to go to be all sec.

Back spasms, tightened up on him messing up his delivery. Conspiracy theorists don’t believe him. Go figure.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Video from Tuesday pregame. Nothing about their body language screams some big conspiracy. Evans hugs Schmidt because he feels bad for his teammate. Schmidt walks off limping.
Tuesday was a must-win and there was no positives to starting Schmidt when he’s less than 100%.

Is this serious? I fully expect LSU to lose some unexpected players in the portal with this season. I could definitely see him making a jump over. I hope not.

I poorly worded my reply, I saw the video and was trying to re-emphasize the point you made.
Tuesday night some idiot even tried to start a rumor about Schmidt transferring. That video backs up exactly what Jay said - his back tightened up and he couldn’t go.

Based on fricking what?

The overreactions here should be embarrassing to those posters, but they have little shame or accountability.

Still too many walks, I’ll concede that (31) but 85 SOs in 64 (more than any other pitcher) innings is pretty damn good. 4.2 ERA (1.5 points lower than the team average). Major progress made year over year.

Hypothetically, it could be based on the exact same conversation being had in this thread.
His own expectations for his development could be higher than what he's achieved thus far under this staff.
I'm not suggesting that's real, fair, or the right decision.
