Your argument is don't smoke weed because that's the rules. While I agree you should not put the team in jeapordy your post reads like people are saying they SHOULD smoke weed because weed isn't bad. I think the majority of people are saying the rule is fricked regardless of what players do or do not do. So stop using retarded buzz words/phrases like
And actually understand what people are saying/arguing.

That's not my point at all. My post is about the current rumor of OU playoff suspensions due to positive weed drug screens and how LSU's abstinence policy regarding weed needs to stay in place if this is indeed true.
Maybe you had some smoke in your eyes when you read it the first time.

It’s less harmful than opioids
How many football players you think take painkillers?

Go undefeated at LSU?
1958 the last time we went undefeated and 3/6 total undefeated seasons LSU has were in the 1800's.

Frequently Asked Questions about Drug Testing
What drugs are banned by the NCAA?
The NCAA bans drugs by class, along with any substance chemically/pharmacologically related to those classes. The banned drug classes are: anabolic agents; stimulants; alcohol and beta blockers (for rifle only); masking agents such as diuretics; narcotics; cannabinoids; peptide hormones, growth factors, related substances and mimetics; hormone and metabolic modulators (anti-estrogens); and beta-2 agonists.

. I think the OPs point is that if the NCAA is going to crack down before the playoffs, you need an internal policy that helps you adhere to that.
This is exactly my point. Weed, particularly with the potency of it today, is in the body for a long time. If these rumors are true, OU got bit in the arse because they either don't have that internal policy, or they don't enforce it. We are very fortunate (so far anyway, fingers crossed) that none of our guys are having to deal with this problem. This is exactly why we are a championship caliber team.

Don't listen to the stoners, they want everyone to be stoned so they'll seem normal.

The morality of weed is irrelevant. The only thing that matters is what the current rules state. If weed's against the rules, it's against the rules. Period. If the rest of college football players can comply--because playing is actually more important to them--then so could the OU players in question. It's not like this creates an unequal playing field.
Now, if you're arguing that these players can't help it, then you're actually hurting your legalization argument more because that tends to support theories of addiction and dependence, which is even more reason to ban it in college sports. It's a lose lose argument in this scenario.

Sure, but prescribed. Not for recreational use. Therein lies the difference.
The "less harmful than" argument is pretty weak. Definitely not the argument to hang your hat on.

I think this testing is for PEDs. Not sure, but they tested AL and Clemson last year for PEDs and they lost several players. This is for the CFP teams. Like the Olympics, no PEDs.

I forgot addictive drugs aren’t addictive if they’re prescribed.

Maybe with someone named Swamp Angel.
The idea that less addictive less harmful pain relief may be something football players want vs harmful addictive and lethal opioids is the argument.

The NCAA has a ban on marijuana, but they leave it to the schools to do the testing for it.

First, it's not legal is half of the US. Second, the NCAA has the right to regulate its sports in any way it sees fit. Regulations and criminal laws are completely divorce-able in all instances. This is not up for debate. That's like arguing recruiting violations are none of the NCAA's business.
